Ueda Metawo just worked on a remake of Yakin Byoutou that just released on 2/22. It looks really good and even has moving gifs,which is the only bad part. Is Metawo confirmed S-tier as an artist now?

I'd love for him to be the artist for a Saiminjutsu 2 or Bible Black remake.

Since I'm doing a fresh installation of Windows, I thought this would be a good opportunity to revamp how I organize my eroges and backlog keeping.
Before, I would simply keep shortcuts to all my eroge in a folder, with subfolders for "Playing", "Finished" and "Plan to play". I also had a program called Gameplay Time Tracker, so I could properly log playtime, but that's abandonware now. Of course, I also used VNDB for wishlisting and further logging my finished VNs, but that felt too high maintenance at times. I don't even bother scoring VNs.
This time around, I'm trying out Playnite, a game library software. It has add-ons to pull metadata from VNDB, Fanza and DLsite. You can assign categories, set completion status, it tracks time played, and all this information persists in the library even if you later uninstall the game, which you can make backups of.
Nothing wrong with the shortcut folders approach, but this is neat to look at.
Anyone else have tried other eroge library management tools or have a particular approach to organizing what you play, what you look forward to, and what you have finished?

I think it's best to reduce the number of steps between you and your library as possible. Any frontend, no matter how good, is going to add extra steps.

I'd also recommend avoiding VNDB summaries at all costs, the gremlins who make most of them have no sense of right and wrong. The current summary for Cross Channel has a fucking giant spoiler in the first sentence.

Recently finished MUSICUS, feels like I've lived a whole life with 馨 throughout the different routes. Never had these emotions from any story before.
In hindsight I could see paths in life where I could have easily branched into the すみ routeby further ignoring those around me. I also dropped out of high school, dropped out of the "normal life" route when I had the second chance, and went on an "adventure" eventually finding my undeniable purpose in the true route.
Switching to the main path after 尾崎 felt like a bad ending as I got so attached to the characters. I feel not many stories have a single pivot point that changes the entire world. Literally got goosebumps when the protag said 「学校をやめようと思うんだ」 to his mom.

輪 ＜ 澄 = 尾崎 ＜ 三日月 in terms of routes. 三日月 then 関西ちゃん best girl.

I think MUSICUS' view on art/music is this: when you create art for the benefit of others, you can create something that is close to pure art; when you try to reduce it solely to the material aspects, like music being mere vibrations of the air, or merely make art for yourself/for sale/for art's sake, you can't ever capture the soul or 「音楽の神」, even if you chase it with all your genius and skill. I know a classical composer who is obsessed with the idea of creating a "pure music" that "contextualizes itself". It is a path to delusion where you can't tell what sounds good or bad anymore, like 馨 admitted he was creating worthless garbage in the すみ end while getting detached from everyone. Seems like the modern Westoid-influenced conception of art is always either so abstract it's meaningless to the world, or so reductive it becomes a mockery of art. It's the illness 花井さん was suffering from. Deep down he knew about the Beauty in music, but couldn't capture it or believe in it, and thus could not win against the cynicism, while both 馨 and his cute いもうと won by believing during the STAR GENERATION show. 八木原 is just too based.

My favorite scene is pic related. The fishing/vacation scene is also peak comfy and soul despite what happened.
In my headcanon they get married in a few years and nothing can convince me otherwise. Glad I read ヒラヒラヒヒル before this otherwise the calling off of their engagement would be too damaging to me, but I appreciate why it's more autistic like this.
My only complaint for the VN is that they didn't show Mika singing ぐらぐら.
Favorite songs: ぐらぐら、Butterfly and はじまりのウタ.

Also has anyone read the Tokuten MUSICUS! novels? And which Setoguchi-ge or OVERDRIVE-ge should I read next? Is DEARDROPS good?

If you like Musicus then you might like Deardrops. Well, at least the main story portion. My favourite route though are Kanade(?) route which is exclusive to Deardrop Distorsion (psp ver). Question mark because the majority of the plot are about other thing but she's at least the closest to MC in that route. It also have the best ED song.
