The fairies are slave workers. Sakuya and China are good friends with the Mistress so they work for food and a place to live.

Sakuya is actually Meiling's sister, who tried to save her from the treacherous grip of the scarlet devil. Unfortunately, she lost. All her years of studying vampire slaying and training in the art of daggers was for naught. Her life was spared, under the condition that she served as a maid in the mansion for the rest of her life.

With this, even if Sakuya couldn't save her sister, sh could at least be with her. Part of the oath is never revealing her actual relationship to Meiling,under any circumstances. Failure in keeping this promise would result in death for both sisters.

So they don't get paid. They serve in the mansion. Of course, the necessities of life is provided for them, so in a way you can call that their payment.

Canonically speaking, Sakuya willing works at SDM and she does command enough respect to be able to keep Remilia and Flan in line if they flip out too much.

Why she would work so hard (remember that she spends countless hours in a frozen timeless world doing work) for the mansion can only be explained by sex with Remilia. I can't think of any other reason since it's obvious she's not being controlled.

Meiling and the rest are probably just there for a shelter and food.

Murasa is the captain of a ship, and I doubt she would have use for another deckhand with the current staff.

You have to realize that working under any of the Big Names don't really mean anything at all.

You'll rarely interact with them, I mean the most you'll ever do is bring them food I guess? You're just stuck doing manual labor all the time. If Remilia wants to cuddle someone in her sleep is she gonna call you? No. If Kaguya is bored is she gonna call you? Not likely.

If you can get with Yuyuko and Youmu without being dead then they're probably the best options. Since they don't really have a traditional house hold that requires upkeep so you don't have to work as much. They're probably the only people you have a chance of getting closer and talk to.

Working at the SDM would prove to be an interesting job. Though the only jobs I'd be able to do there would probably be either serving Remilia/guests tea, gardening work or maybe working in the Voile library for Patchouli.

Working at Eientei wouldn't be my first choice. Since I'm not a rabbit, Eirin hopefully wouldn't experiment her shady new drugs on me. Though Tewi being a grade-A douchebag and having Reisen who can induce insanity just by looking into her eyes would prove making a difficult work environment.

Working for Yuyuko? Fuck yes I would, I mean if I was guaranteed a job as a second gardener I would seriously considering an heroing right now all over my keyboard. Eirin killed the moon's emissaries, who were sent to retrieve her. She betrayed the moon and fled to Earth with Kaguya to hide with her.
Kaguya gave the elixir to her Earthen parents because they took care of her, and to the emperor because she stole his heart and kind of liked him. Neither of them wanted to live forever. Emperor ordered it to be thrown away into Mt. Fuji, and that's when Mokou came in.

After finding out that it was Kaguya and feeling immense guilt for the exile due to the creation of the elixir which led to it in the first place, she wanted to help Kaguya in any way. Kaguya said she was content staying on earth and didn't want to return...so Eirin killed the emissaries and went into hiding with her.

The discrepancy over whether or not Kaguya had the humans who knew about her killed or not rises from this part of Eirin's profile:
