Well on soku standards, it's dominating. It's funny when some people still prefer SWR when imo, that was less balanced (holy shit Suika). All Soku needs is a weather-free stage, and another super-slight tweak patch, and it'd give any serious fighter a run for their money.

Although, Meiling is still noticeably bad overall, pretty much the only actually bad character in the game. She just needs better supers and projectiles to not be a joke char, even like one or two shots that can hit max-range would greatly help her.. like that ki-orb thing, if that went to max range she'd at least have fucking something to throw at projectile-heavy chars.

Suika in soku 1.03 was far more devastating. The only char who did 1.5 instead of 1 orb damage on wrongblock and stuff like frame advantage on blocked firepunch, what the hell tasofro?

SWR had Youmu and Aya at the top but it was more balaced overall, I think. I don't prefer SWR though. 12.3 made some good changes like pushback and less overpowered graze attacks.

I've been using Sakuya for a while and noticed I almost never use any of her skillcards. I have a deck with her default moves and the only card of them I actively use in matches is that bouncing knife one. I also tried all of her alt skills and honestly didn't like any of them. Should I just get rid of those I don't use and replace them with spellcards/system cards or just keep them?

Swallowtail is the big one (straight laser). Can't do it in the air, but it's about 8 times faster so it's an actually useful laser. The way you like to bait 214 into fanspin you may want to look at Sphere Bloom too. Psyche is a good free automatic momentum turner (bullets aren't destroyed if she's hit, huge invicibility, and air usable). Death Lance is also confirmable from almost anything from anywhere (even in the air) for about 4k. Ticket's also a great card for a free 4,000 damage after the combo is finished. Especially in corner combos (5AA-Ticket-5AAAwhatever) it comes out to about 7,000 damage total if you can keep up enough safe pressure to not let them gimp it with spellcard or backdash invincibility.

2A/4A 6A/3A wrongblock 6C rejump or 421C in the corner is tight. That one alt. 236 does well in tight strings too. Yuyu's mixups are still one of the best in the game. 2A and 4A both take a full orb on wrongblock and will get anyone to stop jumping out of your pressure. If you even mix it up with her bullets which are advantageous on block you can pretty much reset at will.

Ah, it felt good playing you again, I really felt like I both made a lot of progress AND learned a bit about my playing. I noticed whenever I found an opening in your attack strings, I tend to dash into 2A when I really didn't need to. I think that's one thing I should stop. You pretty much schooled me, AGAIN, sorry if I didn't impress you with the progress I've made (if you remember me :3).

Also, I'm SO much better at following through with my combos, you have to factor in the pressure of playing my soku idol <3

Good games Renee! Oh man, the Youmu matchup is a tough one for Meiling from what I've heard. I think Youmu has priority on all melee attacks more or less, which takes away from your ability to keep me on the defensive. I definately saw in the Reimu matchup that you're now quite capable of hounding an opponent until they crumble. I think you had a good read on my tactics as well, avoiding all the dash under 2Cs and guard crush attempts in the later matches. Luckily, Sakura runpasts still hit although I can tell it won't be long before my entire Youmu arsenal won't work.

Hmm, I think you're at the point where you have the basics down and you would do well with character specifics. Unfortunately my skill with Meiling isn't that great. I'll try to comment on some of the things I noticed though.

You seem most vulnerable to shenanegans during the low poke into a heavy poke string. In the later games, whenever I had a Super Crescent Moon Slash card I would be carefully watching for it. That, combined with being able to back dash safely out of range at the slow poke meant it was pretty dangerous for you. Some possible tweaks could be mixing it up with forward dash and continuing the pokes, or throwing bullets out. Basically, making the opponent guess what is coming out next and opting to stay in your string instead.

Meilings projectiles should also be more versatile than Youmu's. You could be flooding the screen at middle more to control my movement, especially with threat of a graze trap. I'm not familiar on specific ones but your base 214 is an option to stuff ground approaches instead of jumping to safety. Off maining a bullet heavy character might help you get creative with zoning.

By the way is Reisen just easy to use or something? I rarely use her but it seems I picked up on her pretty quick. I'm still fairly new to the game, but awful at fighters in general.
