Im taking driving lessons at the moment. i was taking them when i was younger but shits expensive in the UK (£25 for an hours driving lesson) and only just started taking them again (20 year old here)

Infact i had one earlier today.

It's called a "driver's license" everywhere that matters besides Japan, and they call it something Japanese (pic tangentially related). And yes, you need one even if you take the subway and/or bus and/or train everywhere.

I don't because I failed the test 4 times. I think they're trying to tell me I really shouldn't be on the road.

If you can 1cc any touhou game on hard mode, you are more than qualified to drive a car. In fact, you're probably a better driver than 90% of the drivers on the streets today.

I have a valid license, but ever since I left the US some months ago I haven't driven at all. It's just as well because the drivers here are a bunch of crazy fucks.

If the speed limit is set to 40Km/h, for example, if you try to turn in a curve at higher speed, you will loose the control of your car, go out of the curve, and crash. If they want to drive like if they were in a highway when they are in the streets, maybe the problem is the trafic laws of your country and not yours.

i practiced driving with my aunt in the city, which was all good fun. i further improved my skills by moving back to a small town where i can drive anywhere at any time with no real traffic or pressure.

I had an a provisional driver's license, but I had it revoked for two months due to getting caught speeding excessively a few times during my provisional period.

Nope, when i was 16 i wasn't allowed to get one because my parents didn't trust me. After that i just didn't care anymore. I have ID issued by the Liquor Control Board that i use for everything now so i don't even need one.

I drive an automatic car at work, around 250-300 kilometers a day.
I dont speed (driving time = work time = paid time), but I recently had to pay a 150€ fine for driving to close to the guy in front of me on the highway, shitsucks.
But getting paid for driving around 75% of the time listening to music in a car you didnt pay for, burning fuel you didnt pay for is pretty cash. literally

Of course I have drivers licence.

Cant really live without it, my workplace is 45min drive away from my home. Also my work requires drivers licence.

Also, its become quite everday thing for me, I cant really imagine how life would be without a car or licence.

Yeah, I drive extra slow when I'm turning because that's exactly what I don't want to happen. I've seen so many people turn really fast, then I hear their wheels screeching and shit. They need to calm down. I should follow the speed limit more, I know, but I hate the other drivers honking/rushing me in general. Also, I live in California.

I live in one of the most crowded cities of Europe (Istanbul) and the traffic is unbearable. Auto makes the daily routine a breeze. Although I admit I miss manual on long drives like when I'm visiting my parents who live 600 kms away from me.

How can you live in America and NOT have a drivers license? You need it for almost every place to live so you can work, unless you live in a city where your job is a few blocks down the street from your apartment. Also the country is quite big, how will you get from place to place cheaply (compared to flying) when you want to go to the beach or something? Travel to a new place?

I didn't get my license until I was 25 (2 years ago). Now I feel liberated and wonder about all the things I missed out on because of it. Still, one of the best parts is no longer being a burden to others.
