I've seen threads on /jp/ before about learning Touhou songs for the piano, anyone feel like having one now? So far I have learned "かわいい悪魔 ~Innocence" and "夜雀の歌声 ~ Night Bird" easymode, wondering what to go for next. Pretty new to the piano, so trying to avoid for something more frustrating than rewarding.

I presume you're using the Touhou Sheet music pack from /rs/? I learned Ultimate Truth (The Kkckwoh sheet music, I liked it more than the other version). I do regret learning it because it turned out to be a lot harder than I originally thought. Looking in to learning Doll maker of Buscursti next, and then maybe Catastrophe in Bhava'gara

I still don't know why people hate it so much.

I've actually been getting my sheets from http://easypianoscore.mad.buttobi.net/

Really like that site, has easymode sheets and videos so I can check out exactly how the sheets will sound. Downloading the pack from /rs/ now though. The Doll Maker of Bucuresti is also one I have been wanting to do, but still hesitating because of the difficulty.

Thanks for that link, anyways, I've also been wanting to give Crimson in the Black Sea a try, simply because of the intro.

Thanks for the link anon. Unfortunately for me, my Sax can't play chords. Maybe I should learn the piano some day. ;_;

It's not as hard as you'd think, it's very visual if you know music already. The hard part is moving around the piano, and doing faster stuff, but having previous music experience helps tremendously with any instrument

I also play the sax, and I'm wanting to pull my hair out learning to play the piano, because I can't play without looking at the keys unlike the saxophone. Not sure what to do.

Pretty sure there aren't any, but are there music sheets for the violin? I've been using piano sheets as a substitute.

I should really try to learn how to play the piano.

Anyone wanna do collab touhou recording? A /jp/ collab I participated last time turned out to be pretty fun.

Just look at it in 8 octave forms, start with C, and end with B, and try to memorize that pattern, and then just apply it 8 times over the piano's size, or, if you have a smaller, less keyed keyboard, just do it to it's full extent, granted it's good to learn some scales first (http://musicalscales.com/)) to get yourself accustomed to the key sets.

>>6294282
I presume you mean playing like a band, which seems like it'd be difficult considering the varying skill levels of those on /jp/, and also the sheer fact of /jp/'s general timidity.

guitar player and sax here, do yourself a favor and learn some NEETS sax songs touhou style.

Learning Touhou on Clarinet at the moment. I've got Cosmic Mind, Tomboyish Girl, Necrofantasia, Cinderella Cage and Lunatic Eyes under my belt. Of course, I'm only using the piano version (I can't transcribe yet cause I was taught in a public school and I'm really fucking poor) and probably easy mode.

Best of luck to your exploits, bro.

I think I might be the guy you collaborated with last time, haha. I'm always up for participation but hopefully someone else will be willing to do the arrangement

Anyone have basic tips for improving sight reading and speed when playing (aside from the obvious "practice more")? Having a hard time getting songs to sound smooth, even after quite a few times playing through.

I want to hear and see you guys play. I've been trying to look up people playing touhou songs on the saxophone and other wind instruments (besides the flute) for awhile.
