There's the script files, plus dxadecode and dxaencode.

Now, what I believe you're doing wrong in attempting to unpack the files is that you're not opening the cmd window in Irisu's directory, THEN imputting the other command lines for unpacking/repackaging. If it's not like the screenshot on the left, it's not going to work.

If you're really having trouble with it, send me the Spanish files once you're done with them and I'll repackage them for you.ode and dxaencode.

No problem oノシ Like I always say, interpretation varies wildly between translators, and that's just how I thought the line's intention was. I can compare stuff and see if there's anything that stands out, but I haven't really found much other than "着信ゼロ" meaning something along the lines of "No New Messages", i.e. no received phone calls, text messages, or voicemail (着信が無い→着信無い→着信ゼロ). Therefore, no friends. That's how I would title it, anyway.

I'm playing around with the script, and I'm wondering - what's the purpose of filelist.txt? Why are memo.txt and usaginouutarou.txt not in it? Are they intended to appear as according to the game's programming?

Your script is pretty accurate. Most of what I'm doing is typical editing to make it sound "nicer" or whatever I think I'm doing. For the most part, I'm keeping your translation's structure in any rewriting I'm trying out.

>>6492849
Yeah, memo.txt and usaginouutarou.txt, as far as I can tell, are not in the game's coding. They're just extras, like how there's a bit of extra art in img.dxa. Also, I'm glad that most of my work is good. I blame あんな子にされてみたいなと思った for having a terribly misleading structure, since I looked at 子にされて and read "make into a child". But what you said makes sense, especially in the context of the game. Also, あんな子に殺されてみたいなと思った is a line directly from じさつうさぎにっき.

As for 着信, "Communication" would be best, I think. "Zero Communication." It only really implies to incoming stuff, if I'm not mistaken, but I think that's the best way to go about it. Your opinion?

I kinda like "Zero Communication". I think I'll change it to that. Don't worry about trying to nail that one down, I ended up with "Arrival Zero" before deciding I'd study it a bit in the dictionary, when I first saw it.

>>6492913
うさぎのうーたろう → Uutarou the Rabbit.

If I close my eyes in the dark, I can see curious shapes raining down behind my eyelids.

I destroy each and every one.

One by one. Neatly, gracefully.

I've done this ever since I was a child.

This is what I do to calm my aching heart.

And I realized that all day long today, too, I played with the shapes.

From Uutarou the Rabbit.txt. It's implied that Uutarou is what Irisu named the rabbit in the schoolyard. And the 100k normal extra is called u-tarou.png...

Incidentally, memo.txt seem to be Tetsu's notes to himself about the characters' personalities. I translated it just for the hell of it, and I guess maybe you guys can find out how to put the two text files as bonus material in the game somehow? Maybe at appropriate points, they can appear in the folder.

Some notes on Irisu, after a few playtests:
-The first playthrough, you will unlock the CGs. If you after your sixth game, if you've made Irisu cry, you will get ending 1. The cycle of the same five CGs and ending 1 will repeat until you manage to score 20,000+ points before Irisu starts crying. In this case, you will get ending 2 after the five CGs. After seeing ending 2, the cycle will break and nothing will happen after games until you unlock Metsu at 40,000 points. In addition to these scores, there is an event at reaching level 100.
In Metsu, you must unlock the six journal fragments, then score 50,000+ points to unlock ending 3. Again, Metsu has a surprise at level 100.
-Metsu note 1 is unlocked at 500 points.
-Metsu note 2 is unlocked at 1000 points.
-Metsu note 3 is unlocked at 2000 points.
-too lazy to figure out the rest.
-Getting 40k before seeing ending 2 will not unlock Metsu, but will cause the creepy Irisu portrait
-You CAN skip ending 1 if you manage to score 20k+ on your first playthrough.
-If you make Irisu cry, you get ending 1, the bad end. As long as you get 20k+ in a single game before she cries, you'll get ending 2.
-Mouse wheel speeds up the game.
-F10 pauses the game, but it unpauses if the Irisu window loses focus.
-Right click for faster tofu with more momentum

Nnkay, here's my revision.

http://www.mediafire.com/?9s5g76h5bwnngcl

Things to keep in mind:

"Something to calm me down" seems to be a bit of a theme in the game. Both Irisu and Uujima do it - the game and the drawings, respectively.

"Animal Divination" (動物占い) = ttp://www.d-uranai.shogakukan.co.jp/uranai/index.html . It's like a personality test.

なんと表現すればいいんだろう。 and the aforementioned line are two lines that I'm not sure how to translate, so I left them alone.

In SRD: "And then, finally, I can destroy (滅する) my past." is the intended allusion.

The very last file: "So much meat and bone for such a tiny little body." - Yes, I like NIN, why do you ask?

I took a bit of liberty with my interpretation, in the way that it sounds slightly more optimistic, or at least different, than the original translation. I hope that's okay.

Use any part of it that you want, don't feel compelled to overwrite it all. Certainly go through it and tell me what you think!

We're currently working on the final patch. Other than that, just take the one closest to the bottom of the thread.

>自分を評価しても良いかもしれない。
I'm not entirely sure of the usage of 評価 here, but I think it means something like self-assessment in this situation - like "check yourself", in a way, but that's just how I interpret it.

>くれぐれも不自然な態度をみせないようにお願いします。
It sounds more here like Irisu is in more of a pleading/requesting tone of voice than a thankful one, IMO.

>ウサギと、あの女の子の仲を邪魔してしまわない時間を選んだ。
You might have a point on this one!

>あの傷だらけのウサギのこと、せめてぼくだけは深く心に刻みつけたま
まで
いよう。
That's what I tried to do as well. I'm not sure how well I succeeded.

>これもぼくへの想いの裏返しのようなもので、とても嬉しい。
ぼくへの想い = feelings for me --> ぼくへの想いの裏返し = reversal of feelings for me --> ぼくへの想いの裏返しのようなもの = something that is the reversal of feelings for me --> ぼくへの想いの裏返しのようなものでとても嬉しい = happy about something that is the reversal of feelings for me --> これもぼくへの想いの裏返しのようなもので、とても嬉しい。 = happy about this thing too that is the reversal of feelings for me
^ I'll admit...this is kind of a stretch. I wasn't happy with that line at all, to be honest.

>その後ぼくは、警察をどうごまかせばいいんだよ。
Mm, I'm not so sure about that... well, lemme think it through. ごまかす = to deceive, falsify, misrepresent; paired with the rest of the sentence (警察, どう, etc.) Uujima is wondering how he is supposed to deceive the police. From how I interpret it, he knows of Irisu's involvement in the trip and if he's the only one left, after suspicion is cast on him and he inevitably denies it, the police will want to know who it really was if it wasn't Uuji, which would lead to either Uuji or Irisu getting arrested, which means that they're unable to be together, which means that the only way for Irisu and Uujima to be together would be either for Uujima to not go on the trip and take himself entirely out of the picture, or he would have to be killed as well in order for Irisu to not get arrested, which results in not being with Irisu anyway, and if he doesn't go on the trip, then that casts suspicion on Irisu since she is the only one who could have been there that isn't killed. Therefore, there's potentially no way for the plan to work. I see it more as if he's criticizing Irisu's plan rather than fearing for his own safety, basically.

I'm glad you liked my revision! And truth be told, after I compared my script to yours, it ended up being very similar, so I doubt that it's an issue of difference in skill (tho it's always good to keep practicing!). A lot of translation depends on the interpretation and writing style of the translator among many other factors, which is why machine translation doesn't work nearly as well.

Yeah, I got there too. I just read gaeshi as "return" in this sense, so he's talking about reciprocation. DOes that make sense?

It's 裏返し, not 返し. Don't forget the "ura"!

Anyway I've reached the point where I stop making sense so it's sleep time. Good night!

I never really understood the big deal about this game. I mean sure the gameplay is alright but it's not that amazing.

Personally I like it for the plot, it might be almost inexistent and short but there is a whole feeling to it, at least for me it's really special. Cute drawings and simply awesome music too.

Actually bumping this thread motivated me to work on a certain thing again, thanks anon.

Why don't you spend the time you now spend caring about me to make drawings? Drawing is fun after all. Maybe we can meet each other in the OC thread.

The previous poster wasn't me. You really need to get your samefag detector fixed, homo.

>>6531343,10
I used to draw a little but my scanner is not connected and I have computer problems and I need to fix those first. But when that's done I am going to practice by myself for a long time first of all before I'd feel confident enough to show something of it on /jp/.

>You really need to get your samefag detector fixed, homo.
It works for both of you anyway. And I was not trying to "detect" samefagging, I merely replied to Anonymous, it happens to be your name as well.

I'm pretty perfectionist about it (drawing), but you don't need to seek for "perfection" if you want to post something. There are countless good images, usually cute ones, that are easy to make. I'm sure people would enjoy to see them and don't be afraid to post there asking for tips and stuff, we need more activity on OC threads.
