Not OP, but almost everyone on /v/ and /a/ sees saging as someone thinking that it's an "attack". If you're going to deal with the people from there at all you have to understand that, and since you're being flooded with it now, then it's pretty important.

The thing /jp/ forgets is that /jp/ is slow and the function of sage is different than that of /b/'s for example.

A thread not bumped on /b/ will die in minutes.
When you sage a thread on /b/ you're basically saying, your thread should die.
Even on boards like /v/ and /a/ it moves too fast, you may not even know a thread exists because it wasn't bumped.

On /jp/ it moves slow enough so that sage can be used to keep currently discussed topics on the front page while still knowing what's on the other pages/
