As advice, do learn from standard spanish, latin america uses this kind of spanish. The problem with Spain is the heavy accent, the way they write (formal and informal) and the way the speak doesn't relate. They also think they're master race while they're clearly as fucked up as greece.

To be honest, there's a great deal of difference between the Spanish spoken in Mexico and the one spoken in South America.

If you want to learn the language, learn the Spanish from Spain. It's more formal, so you can take the basics more easily.

Latin Spanish is much more informal and therefore, more difficult to learn.
