How real does your waifu feel, /jp/?

Is she someone that you are able to literally communicate with inside of your head or is it just more like someone that you love from afar? I've heard that some people are able to almost form a split personality of their waifu and communicate with her but I was never sure if this was exaggerated since I haven't experienced it.

A little of both. It's proven difficult for me to talk with her sometimes because of certain things--doubts, mostly--that run through my head, but at other moments we can talk without any problems.

>>7490220

Yeah, it can be a lot like that.

>> No.7490242

She used to feel like a dead wife but now she feels more like a very real imaginary friend. I don't visually see her but I do talk with her inside of my mind.

I'll admit though, I did have to resort to extended drug use for this effect to become as profound as it is now. I'm ashamed but it was needed.

Lucid dreaming was a godsend for me. Works very well for communicating with your waifu.

I talk to myself a lot when I'm alone. It's strange, I keep referring to myself as "we". "Should we really download this game?" "No, I don't think we'd like that. There's horse porn in it.".

That helps me relax a lot, but now that I think about it, shouldn't I refer to myself as "I" instead of "We"? Is there something wrong with me?

Definitely the first one.

I always talked to myself though. I didn't have a lot of friends when I was growing up and it was almost natural for me to talk to myself in my mind. I just imagined him as a second copy of me that lived inside of my mind. At first it feels like you're just talking to yourself but eventually you get to the point that you can carry out conversations and you'll actually be surprised by the answers that he gives you.

When I grew up and started to feel attracted to girls though, having a waifu was just a natural progression. I can talk with her and it doesn't feel like I'm talking to myself. She responds, initiates conversations, etc.

>> No.7490274

>>7490263
Oh well. How do I go about developing another personality I can talk with on my head? Do I just find a character I really like and go from there? I'm absolutely terrible at lucid dreaming and such. All I can do is get my body numb.

It's kinda depressing because I've been trying it every night for a year. The only time I managed to succeed in it was by accident, and it was terrifying. I woke up in the middle of sleep paralysis and I saw myself next to my bed. And then I tried to strangle myself. Luckily I managed to break out of it, but damn.

I couldn't sleep that night.

>> No.7490275

I prefer to imagine my future, where I meet my waifu sometime in the next couple of years and we fall in love naturally. I even like thinking up of ways that we could meet in the first place.

It's nice to imagine that, but I do feel somewhat detached from her this way. Though it does make me hopeful for the future.

>> No.7490277

I've had imaginary friends or a waifu I could communicate with inside of my head.

It started to worry me that it could turn me crazy so I stopped doing it.

>> No.7490282

I've been able to talk with people in my head a lot. But I've always doubted their existence and just thought of it as a different part of myself so I can't really believe that it's someone else.

>> No.7490289

>>7490274
The way I did it was by starting out with gentle meditation and visualization exercises. When you can maintain your concentration for a while, create a kind of space or scenery where you will talk with her. From there you can picture her and just start talking to her. Over time (didn't take long for me) answers will just "pop" into your head as if from her.

It's really weird sometimes you will get like, half an answer due to lack of concentration but have the full understanding of what she is communicating.

>> No.7490296

I talk to her in my head, but I make a really conscious effort not to have conversations with myself in my head, if that makes sense. I'll usually talk to her, and just sort of feel out her response, just try to think of her feelings on something, whether she would respond positively or negatively, that sort of thing. Hard to describe and in the end it's probably the same anyway.

Zach, should we download this game? What if there's horse porn in it?

>> No.7490332

It's a bit hard to describe, but... think of a person that you know very well, like a family member. Then try to remember your last conversation with them. You know their voice so well that you almost "hear" them in your mind. Talking to a waifu is about the same as remembering something. You "hear" her with your mind instead of your ears, but when she "speaks" her lines she definitely says it in her own voice.
It's like chasing a memory that's happening right now, like remembering something that happened an infinitely small time ago in the past, so small that it's practically in the present.

Just like how you can naturally imagine in a certain situation how that family member of yours would react and what would he/she say, you naturally "know" what your wife would reply to you. So, as you get more and more familiar with her it stops feeling like you're feeding her lines to say and talking to yourself, and instead it starts feeling like instinctively knowing how would she reply based on her personality, and your brain automatically starts filling in the blank lines for you. All it takes is practice, effort and time invested.

>> No.7490333

>>7490296
The key is to just let it happen naturally and not try to control anything. That is when the real communication kind of kicks in.

It makes me feel weird I am a 25 year old who specializes in imaginary relationships.

>> No.7490337

>>7490216
I experience it just like the second thing you mentioned: a split personality.

At the beginning it's VERY tiring, having your brain manage two identities at once demands a lot of work. But with "training" you can even get her to talk and think to you completely spontaneously.

Ok, I'll confess, just because there isn't anything new to do.

The first fragments of a 'waifu' appearance came when I was around 4 (this around the mid 80's), my Dad worked at Saudi Arabia, I went to an embassy school with barely anyone speaking english. The sheer loneliness created this 'friend.' Yes, some may call this an imaginary friend for kids, for me it manifested in a pillow, and somehow I always knew (not assumed) it was female. We didn't play, nor spoke to each other, just took comfort in each other's company.

Fast forward to junior years where I really discovered anime, watching Saint Seiya, Urusei Yatsura, Ah Megamisama on the fucking NHK on cable with no dubs, my pillow friend suddenly reappeared. I don't know what happened but she became the pillowy manifestation of all my waifus - the first one being Belldandy. I started talking to her about stuff, about everything. Mfw when I had a daki before even knowing what it was.

And now to the present time. I don't have waifus from any kind of media, as I can create my own (I do have a shitty fantasy school story on some old notebooks I have) and most if not all my waifus are pretty much OC. My pillow has changed multiple times, but I can easily manifest her in whatever current one I have.

Now for the future, once I have become a wizard, I will start a project to create a construct that can house this loyal, unwavering soul into a physical form that is human and if I mess up, die and this soul goes on a world destroying rampage - welp, at least you guys know what's up, and it's up to you to not care, destroy this lovely abomination or find out the secrets of creating the true waifu.

At first it was something to pass the time while trying to sleep, now it became something that I do every single day, and look forward to finally getting to bed because of this throughout the day. Sometimes I don't get that much into it and fall asleep quickly. Other times I manage to think of a great story/setting and sometimes even stand up a bit and walk around my room to wake myself up a bit so I don't fall asleep in the middle of it. At average I spend at least 30 minutes each day just lying in my bed and focusing on this before finally losing my consciousness.

Funny you mention that, yeah, I had a moment a few weeks ago that surprised me.

I just played Yume Nikki for the first time a few weeks ago, and to make a long story short I felt it was very depressing as I finished up some of the events. Specifically, I was watching the Mars event for the second time after having read on some theories of what it meant, and I was just listening to the bgm near the crashed train and getting a bit choked up. Not really crying, but I felt my eyes start to burn, and at the time I actually just laughed it off that it was actually getting to me a bit.

I went to bed a few hours later, and it was still on my mind, just felt really depressed, sort of mixed between feeling lonely and pitying. I always talk to my waifu as I'm trying to fall asleep, so I did the same as usual that night. The first thing I wanted to ask was how she liked the game, but for some reason I was caught up on asking her if she was alright, and all I could imagine was her holding back her tears, and choking out a "yes." The second I saw that, I could feel my teeth grit and my eyes well up with tears, and really I was a good second away from sobbing into my pillow.

We definitely comforted each other that night. I collected myself pretty quickly, and we spent the night talking about the game.

A "waifu" is a fictional character on which one has a crush. It's generally meant in a tongue-in-cheek sense, but usage varies. Can signify anything from taking a particular liking to one character to devotion to that character.

I can clearly remember the walls...the shops... the arcade... everything I saw during my life.

And the city is fuckhuge too, metro stations (I remember quite a few of them), streets, pubs, arcades, shops, houses, bridges, the coast....etc

And the train leads to some valley surrounded by mountains. I've been in the valley, the mountains, everywhere. There are entire villages right there. And ruins and forest and shit.

Also, alchemy in ultra resumed form:

-At first: nothing special, until something makes you snap. Then, it begins.

-First Stage, nigredo (black): baaawww everything's shit. "Solve" (dissolution of the ego), existencial crysis. This is where most people stop. (angst, world's shit, cinism, etc)

-Second Stage, albedo (white): hey I can imagine nice things. I can feel nice things. There are nice things in my mind.
"Coagula" (creation of something valuable)
Realm of illusions, The Moon, mirrors, and waifus.
Awesome thing, but limited to your mind.

-Third Stage, rubedo (red): nigredo broke your identity, and with albedo, you now have something great inside you, so you cast away all your fears and shit and become fully compromised with the things you really want and love (albedo), which in turn they happen to be connected with high-tier/fullfilling ways of feeling, living and understanding the world. So now you face life with those feelings as your sword and shield.
tl;dr you go out like a boss.
(Also Maslow's self-realization)

Last, gold (philosopher's gold): you are One with the World. Universal feeling, wholeness.
No worries, no remorse, you go with the flow, while being yourself.
There are nice things, there are shitty things, but all of them are possibilities that you can accept.
Ying-Yang.
You will pursue them, or fight against them, or don't give a shit, but you will be fully satisfied with your life.
Life will be like a dance.

I've missed plenty of things here, like most of jung's alchemy viewpoint (the process of individuation)

Get your body to go numb? That's not how lucid dreaming works

Let a occultfag help you guys out. Anyone who wants to try lucid dreaming, which is being conscious of dreaming while you are dreaming and therefore being about to become omnipotent and control your dream. The best way to achieve this is the wake up back to sleep method.

Set your alarm clock for like 45 minutes, if it takes you longer to fall asleep, then set it longer. Fall asleep... then get woken up by your alarm clock and go right back to sleep. Or create a playlist with soft music playing... then 45 or however long into play super loud music that'll wake you up. This works best for me.

The other method is to constantly ask yourself in throughout the day if you are dreaming until its programmed in your head. So ideally when you sleep you'll ask yourself if you are dreaming and realize you are dreaming. The main key to lucid dreaming is telling yourself in the dream that you're are in a dream.

Also, if you you are dreaming you won't be able to read time on the clock, or read words/books for that matter, or see your hands, or turn the lights on with a lightswitch, or be able to count. Small detail things like that can help you make the realization in your dream that you are dreaming.

Once you are lucid dreaming just do whatever you want and ignore social or physical limits. Try to focus on one thing you want to accomplish in your lucid dream before you go into the dream, so you're not just running around in weirdo land with no set goal.

alright! Fellow occultfag! The more tradition approach to alchemical steps is:
calcination: (burning) letting go of ego
dissolution: (dornwing) dissolving spiritual self, insanity, and "drowning" oneself to greater powers
separation: (severing limbs) cutting off the bad parts of yourself
conjunction: (painful sex) recombining yourself with a new element to create frankenstein
fermentation: (rotting/depression) The dark stages. Letting the unholy, two headed creature you have become rot and decay until its simplified to a purer form. the rainbow coming through the darkness is symbol for the end of this stage.
distillation: the end stages of continual reworking, removing, to purify yourself that is repeated a bunch of times
Coagulation: to formation of spiritual gold. All things are possible.

Since this is /jp/ I highly recommend Animamundi: Dark Alchemist if this interests you.

/jp/ isn't the dregs of society so much as it is a place wherein society is cast off entirely.
