I'm thinking of the quality of the plot and the characters rather than the art to be honest. The characters acted like morons most of the time and there were a ton of contrivances to explain why people didn't die even after doing what seemed like dramatic heroic sacrifices. And Index ended up being a side character halfway through the show.

Index IS a side character. She was only meant to be important in the first novel, with each new novel having a different name. Publishers wouldn't allow it, so "Magical Index" stuck and Index also had to stay around.

I like raildex's style, it doesn't really seem to be working towards anything, it's just one story after the other using the same characters but it's not like they retcon the whole thing afterwards like other shitty series, it just feels more real y'know?
