I think she's actually really good, but since I'm basically the only playing her, no one is screaming overpowered.

But I'm trying to level my Okuu right now. It's tough starting from the ground up again.

I knocked a single-digit Youmu I out-leveled by a whole lot down to one hit point and then she killed me in about a hundred hi turns.

At the end I was very tempted to just blow her away with single digits left but she got some sort of critical hit and took off fifteen or so at once, so I was unable to determine the extent of my sadistic nature.

I'm not sure I'm enjoying the premise now that there's several people above level 40. There's not even a point to the Defend or Evade buttons when you're starting a new character. High speed stat is ridiculous(seriously Youmu? Really Nazrin? Come on, Chen) and again, nulls the point of the Evade button.

I guess what's really bothering me is being forced to take lumps and watch my death count rise(man I hate that) before I can do something besides mash attack/shoot to get my loser's exp faster.

You get more exp for losing to high levels than beating someone your own level.

It isn't very fun though. I enjoyed the first day more, but apparently I'm in the minority since the popularity exploded after exp gains were put in.

The game might be more interesting if matchmaking were a little better. It would be more fun to get a game with somebody of similar level after fifteen seconds rather than somebody twenty levels up after three.

Once the matchmaking is ironed out, I think leveling will really improve the gameplay. For instance, Aya was losing for basically the entire first 10 levels, then started getting good. As they level up, their strengths and weaknesses start to get a lot more evident and the gameplay improves.

As it is now, it's basically being a punching-bag for 30 levels until you can actually fight, which is definitely terrible.

Everyone should keep in mind this game is 2 days old and the dev is still actively working on it. I expect to see it develop into something great.

It's not very fun two shotting low levels.

For some reason it's ok the developer is fixing stuff, in other things I didn't see unbalance the times I played against Chen/Youmu/Suwako, and despite having them a lot of evasion I was able to win.

I guess you don't like to lose at all, it's not complex to try a different tactic. Not only shooting and get mad because a Chen did evade your attack.

Also, a Shikieiki in level 30s can still beat me through dodging as well.

That makes no sense. If shooting gets dodged, so does attack. That means you get, save once in a blue moon, no damage. You can do your own evades and defends, but against a character like youmu who doesn't need to use any MP, all you're doing is prolonging your own death.

Losing one hundred times before you can start doing anything is terrible, there is no two ways about it.

Is everyone else's speed growing at about 6-8 per level as well? I'm worried my Okuu will turn out to be a speed-based character even though her speed isn't great so far.

Pretty soon this will be a bunch of level 99s and the people getting raped by them for their pity exp. This has potential though, so I'm hoping it works out eventually.

You start with a Touhou, and you keep that one.

To get a second, go to your profile. You should see the option. You can only have two Touhous, and you can't replace any of the ones you currently have, so the first one you make will be what you get.

You should add a way to create original characters (do not steal) so that everyone can have overoptimized builds with them. Remember those threads about drawing a Touhou character while following that "ZUN teaches drawing" image? Think those, except they also dodge all the time.

Disabled error logging for now. With a 4gb error log it might have very well been a good cause of server stress. Something about character creation was generating literally millions of errors per minute and I have no idea.

Not really, it's all about match-ups. I can beat Yukari or Hong meiling even if they have 5-10 levels more, but it's very hard to beat even lower level Okuus and Tenshis.

I love it when people melee with me. Makes me happy. Like even if I lost to some level 50 or some shit they had the decency to fight me honorably. And against low levels I just spam melee and see if they can figure out how to win, and if they do good for them. I really only fight seriously with people near my level which is also fun~

What, their pride is getting hurt? Take it easy and grind some exp as a punching bag. Content is being added so quickly, something will be available in the future.

I'd rather have some balanced characters than caring about how beginners have a chance. With some strategy you can take down far stronger opponents. Sadly you most of the time need also horrible amounts of luck, because evade is pretty shitty.

I was afraid this was going to happen. The dev will now not want to remove experience, the current leveling system or do a wipe even if it's better for the game because people have INVESTED THEIR VALUABLE TIME in the game and don't want to lose all of their progress. Dev should have put a lvl cap like commercial mmo's usually have. That way the beginners have a chance to catch up and the veterans can test around with new touhous

Seriously what the fuck is the point of implementing leveling up? If matchmaking is supposed to match you with people with equal stats, why not just nullify the stat advantage in the first place? There are more ways to modify stats than grinding, I can't wait to lose 200 games so I can 1-shot beginners.
