Cannonball is pretty good if you like the premise. Seven Bridge is basically the prototype for the wab series so you might want to check it out, too bad it was rushed at the end. If you like classic japanese settings, also play Oiran Rouge, it's set in Edo Yoshiwara. For gameplay, Born Freaks is pretty good I guess?

During the explanation of the dorm, the say the rooms for the guys are located on the first floor (presumably the first upper floor I guess), but you can clearly see the garden or whatever when you look outside Yamato’s room, making you believe you’re actually located on the ground floor.

Just finished the Tamami route of Kusari, and it was unbelievably awesome. My new favorite VN. It managed to keep me gripped to the end, apart from a time when I got frustrated about repeatedly hitting bad end after bad end. (I needed to go to the library to get the crossbow earlier to survive the hostages-for-pocket-watches transaction with Kishida, which was about a dozen choices behind the death.).
The sheer number of bad ends possible, some with long paths leading up to them, was frustrating at times, but not knowing whether you were going to make it out alive in tough situations certainly added greatly to the suspense.
Also, Tamami is love. I just want to hug her.
I'll play through the other routes soon, this VN is great. I've finally awoken to the majesty of Real Deal as opposed to Disney games.

Currently playing Symphonic Rain; just finished Torta's route. There's this bittersweet melancholy that pervades the entire game. I absolutely love the atmosphere.

Chihaya was lovely throughout, and her resistance there was spirited, though ineffective ;_; I've heard people say her end is great before, though she'd have to do something pretty amazing to get past Tamami in my rankings.
At first I thought Tamami was just a bit of an annoying brat, but she just got better and better on her route until she was Best Heroine of All Time™. And for some reason, I thought the line 一番優しいうさぎが狼を殺した on her route was such a great line.
