There are two charcters that I know of that can do Yandere really well.

You may not enjoy it if bloodshed is an absolute requirement, but what I like is that her nonviolence makes the author come up with all sorts of other creative ways to show how insane she is.

Not OP here, but I'm also interested in yandere. I fucking love them. There's a VN called "Yandere" being translated and ヤンデレ彼女のHなせまり方 was released recently (not translated).

Isn't Kotonoha from School Days the ultimate yandere?

I already singed about the virtues of this on another thread, bu I am posting it again, in case people are still interested.

It's not like there's some strict definition for yandere out there.

As long as you have both the yan and the dere, you're good. The yan portion doesn't necessarily have to include any violence.

I wouldn't even classify Kotonoha as a yandere anyway. She only goes after Sekai once. The other times it's killing herself or Makoto, neither of which fit. She's more just insane, and even then, only for a very very brief part of the game.

Except that it hasn't? 2003-2005 or so was when that archetype was popular, only people just called them crazy or psychopaths. There are a lot fewer now than then and certain much fewer good ones.

The "yan" part literally means "illness" in this case "mental illness". It can be any kind of mental illness, inclunding psychopatic behaviours.

Yuno is practically the Yandere poster girl. Her possessiveness and craziness exemplify the more extreme end of the archetype.

I will agree that Koharu no Hibi's yandere is great, though, since it shows that a girl can be creepy/crazy/cute and not need to get violent.
