That undub also has another glitch where the rock doesnt sing at the square.

I still like RF3 better so far, but ToD ain't bad. Pleasantly surprised the undub works so well already.

The system requirements are pretty low for a Wii game. I've got a 3GHz Phenom II and it only drops below 100% when there are a lot of enemies on screen at once. I haven't tried experimenting with speed hacks, either.

Game is kind of meh. At least the combat is better than in Frontier.

There's been some drama at Dolphin over the audio decoder.

HLE is much faster, you can run games at pretty much perfect speed, but their audio is completely fucked up. LLE meanwhile is slower so you get lower FPS but it's much better on providing audio.

Basically LLE is what you should be using for new games.

It's perfectly understandable that they'd rather get HLE working correctly than rely on LLE, since LLE requires copyrighted DSP firmware. In the meantime, ToD runs so well that the performance hit from LLE isn't such a big deal.

Note that if you have extra processor cores, you can get a small speed boost by selecting "DSP LLE on Thread." I have a 4-core processor, and just standing around in my house with the frame limit disabled, I was seeing 55-56 FPS with HLE, 46 FPS with LLE, and 50 FPS with LLE on thread.

They're working on making another version soon that changes the names that were changed back, but if you want you can just grab this one, since that's not a particularly significant thing to warrant much waiting.

Yeah, some people are reporting problems with wiimotes over on the Dolphin forums, too. You can get around it for now by using a regular gamepad, or you could try r7060, which apparently doesn't have the input lag issues.

Anyone have any tips on how to level crafting and forging?

For crafting I've just been making handknit hats all day but I don't know if there are any higher level recipes I could make.

Same goes for forging, I started with Zweihanders then moved onto the Intermediate Rod + 2 Scrap Metals for easy levels but I don't know what to move onto next.

My oak trees haven't finished growing yet but I can tell that carpentry is going to be a bitch to level too.

Are any of you running this in Dolphin?
Even though my VPS is 60+, the actual FPS are 20 and below, and thus the speed drops below 100 and stuttering ensues.

This is a pretty mediocre PC, but I'm running with no antialiasing etc.

I played through spring 15 (with both savestate and normal save) then stopped playing for a while.

When I wanted to continue playing, both saves revert back to spring 4th. That was from my earlier save.

Does this mean the game is not playable right now? Or did I get a bad .iso?

Also anyone knows why my game frequently crashes while playing? I had to resort to savestates to prevent loosing too much.

It usually happens in places that are noisy (dialogues, battles, item scrolling). I'm guessing it's a sound problem.

I don't know if this is what your problem is, but savestates are not interchangeable between DSP HLE and LLE. The solution is to load them using HLE, save the game normally, then switch to LLE. You should then be able to save and load states normally.

Changing DSP screw your savestates: That means if you saved with one DSP config, you can only load that save with the same confg. Surprisingly, that doesn't happen when you change video configs (DX9, OpenGL, DX11).

I'd suggest either RF3 or Frontier, but Frontier's undub has problems.

If you ever want to play 1 or 2, play those first, because you won't want to play them once you get used to the improvements in RFF and RF3.

There's not much reason to wait to play Tides, though; the undub already works damn well. This "Merry Christmas!" thing is the first real issue I've run into with Majin's version.

-longer
-better non-marriageable NPCs
-farming is actually the best money-maker
-best music in the franchise to date

To 3's favor:

-Better combat
-No fucking runey system
-Does a better job at building relationships between the cast

Personally, Frontier has my favorite lot of bachelorettes, but that's a subject of much debate.

...Also, its not like the dubs for Frontier and Tides are unbearably horrible. As far as English dubs for niche games go, they're pretty okay.

DSP LLE recompiler always lead to immediate game crash at startup for me. It runs again with glitchy sound when I turn it back to HLE. The files are already in place. I'm frustrated.

1. Mikoto disguises herself as a guy at the beginning. She's with the girls in Azel's OP though, so I dunno. They kinda half-baked hiding her identity as a girl. I didn't even realize that she was trying to hide herself as a guy until Aden referred to her as a "he".

2. I have no idea why they silhouetted loli Ultimecia. I thought that maybe she was going to be introduced as a villain or show up really late in the game, but she's introduced right after the first dungeon and might as well be a Disgaea character. Most of the quirky skits are done elsewhere. (the new skits that you get when you level up a character's FP, miscellaneous story skits, etc.)

You can finish it, but you'll get the bad end if you don't keep a good amount of crops in your farm at all times. I believe you can afford to skip farming for 10 days if you still want to get the best end, but after that you're fucked if you let more than 1/3 of your farm be empty. (It is checked when you sleep, so it's ok as long as you plant things before night time.)

Now, that's not to say that it should compromise other factors, or that it's necessarily a bad thing to intentionally forsake it for stylistic purposes, but all other things being equal a realistic game is superior to a non-realistic game. You should grow crops. Its the best money maker in this game. Also, the winter island is the only reliable way to farm for ore.

He'd be running requests for the villagers, selling and buying things at the store, fishing, getting his house expanded, bringing back materials, etc. How much he farmed (not something that anyone ever asked or expected him to do, BTW) before he cleared those dungeons that he randomly and conveniently ran across shouldn't have much bearing on anything.
