Why was the cast of Umineko so unlikable when compared to its predecessor?

>> No.8030265

They were pretty much intended to be assholes.

>> No.8030266

They're terrible people, but not unlikeable.

>> No.8030269

I liked them

>> No.8030287

Only the adults were likable, but they were shaft because the fans went WHERE ARE THE LOLIS and then the adults got shafted sadly.

Yeah, I'm sure that's what happened.

I have fond memory's of huragashi because i watched it all on a Christmas eve night long ago until like 5am in the morning, was a pretty weird Christmas eve.

Because the cast is something like three times the size. Characters don't get much development, and what development they do get is meant to make you think they're possibly murderers. And it seems much more excusable when Higurashi characters go and kill everyone for some reason.

Higurashi had a fairly big cast too. I have to agree that I didn't like any of the characters in Umineko since most of them are assholes or bitches. At least Higurashi's characters are generally more likable.

>most of them are assholes or bitches

And that's why I love them.
