Line count can be defined all sorts of ways. In my experience, people usually count it by just the number of speaker tags or text box outputs, which is around half to a third the number of actual lines if you want to be pedantic. Plus they could be counting speaker tags or coding output like Cudder did with Flyable Heart. And then there's the NVL games where one 'line' is three paragraphs.

As of today I've started translating Forest. Based on the stats we have now, it will probably take about two months for me to finish it.

Also, we ended up talking amongst ourselves to select the next few projects. I've decided that the first VN I'll translate after Forest is Rewrite. We won't announce any of the others just yet in case I change my mind.

Honestly? I couldn't care less about what other people say about Rewrite. Like you said, "Clannad is shit except for the After Story" and "Little Busters is shit except for Refrain" are claims that I've read quite often, yet I disagree with both (I haven't read Refrain yet because it's not been translated, but I liked Little Busters a lot so far). I've always loved Key, and I bought Rewrite despite my poor knowkedge of Japanese, hoping that someone would translate it someday. So, yeah, I really don't care. I'll read it, and forge my own opinion when it comes down to it.

You only really have two options, either No$GBA (+NO$Zoomer, I can't really see how anyone would be able to use nocash without that nowadays) and Desmume. Try the other and see if it works well for you, but be advised that it requires a lot more from your system, so if your computer isn't too good it will run like crap.

Rewrite is longer than any individual muvluv game. It may or may not be longer than the three games Ixrec translated. I think it's about the same, but I don't recall exactly how long MLA is.

In any case, Rewrite is in the neighborhood of 100k lines, I think.

With a program like Bandicam : www.bandicam.com

You can set a cap at 32 FPS, for example, and now the game runs flawlessly using about 10% of CPU.

Much better.
