Basically, NNL worked on their patch as a fantranslation, and when it started to get near completion, minori sent them at least one cease and desist notice. NNL responded by trolling the shit out of minori on their site with every opportunity, and of course releasing the patch against their wishes. Eventually minori just caved in and decided to try to partner with them, which I thought was pretty hilarious at the time considering all the drama that had happened beforehand. NNL are pretty much one of the most obnoxious translation groups on the internet, but they deserve at least a little bit of recognition for basically forcing one of the most xenophobic developers to do an official localization, something that nobody thought was even remotely possible before then.
