If I had any confidence that the scene was any better than it was 5 years ago, sure, but I just remember the overwhelming amount of poorly-timed or just plain bad stepcharts. That's why I moved on to IIDX when DDR got boring/easy.

Speaking of IIDX, I remember in the last Bemani thread we had, someone mentioned Resort Anthems being on Share. Anyone have tips on what clusters to use for finding AC rips and such? I found a C81 IIDX doujin but that's about all.

Just avoid the "popular" sites like Flash Flash Revolution and Bemanistyle and you should be good. They don't practice any sort of quality control and they're populated by idiot 14-year-old "otaku".
It's a shame too because it's a fun piece of software and there are good things out there. I really like the DIY projects people do. I made a (very bad) lighting system in the early 3.x days. By "lighting system" I mean "ten LEDs very poorly soldered to some wire and fixed to my serial port." It was a neat feature on the devs' part. I'd like to see someone do something like those Flandre Christmas lights.

I don't know about Share, but it's sitting on bemaniso.ws. I didn't get it myself, but I got GOLD through SIRIUS as their successors were released. I heard Resort Anthem is incredibly picky about hardware, and my computer didn't match up, which is why I never downloaded it.

They are just rehashes.

Poorly made? The packs I have are all way above average, with a few tracks being among the absolute top of the (fanmade) stuff I've seen so far.

It obviously won't hurt to have more, though, so go ahead with this by all means.

if you google "touhou pad pack" there's a bunch of songs for that, of course might be hard to find the first two considering those were made in '08 and on plus the first one was hosted on megaupload too.

Yeah, saw that it was on sows in that same thread but I'm not about to beg for an invite. It's poor form and I have nothing of value to offer in return anyhow. Sucks about hardware requirements on Resort Anthems, though. I was looking forward to it, hoping it was better than Sirius and Empress. I think the last AC release I really liked was DJT, although Gold was better.

PS: Do not limit yourself only to ranked beatmaps, there are some hidden jewels there.
