Out of the boards I browse, only /jp/'s chat is the one I don't idle. /p/ chat is really good and is actually a bit creepy because they never do talk about anything other than cameras and photo stuff. /ck/'s is less on-topic, but never deviates far from cooking and food in the off-chance there is some chatting going on.

/jp/ is the best when it stays on /jp/. I've met a few cool people offboard, but /jp/ anons get all bitchy when they are no longer anonymous. Mainly because you have a name to attack instead of a post number.

I was on for a bit mid fall after I saw a thread on /a/ (there was no real news on /jp/ that day). Most of the people who were actually on were either students or neets. If I remember there were 2 hikkis. All in all, a nice enough group. I ended up dropping because I got busy with life, and now I've been gone so long I can't go back without apologizing.

I just finished reading that archive post. /jp/ should take it easy, I'm not trying to advertise the ronery chat, frankly its the only IRC channel I know, but I had a nice time there. Figure collections were shared, days of neetdom/life were talked about. They sometimes play left 4 dead together and apparently they just got a minecraft server. All and all not so bad.

This place is pretty dead, especially at these hours but it's fully FUNctional and despite it's name /‍v‍/ hasn't come in to ruin it ocassionally a pair of users pop up but leave after noticing how dead it is, not many annoying people also, if you feel like socialfagging with other /jp/er or taking over it and claim it /jp/chat you could come in sometime if you want and it might even work.
