Those are pretty delicious looking. I always thought baking was really cool; I personally mainly do cooking and don't know too much about baking. You would probably get more from posting it on /ck/, /jp/ doesn't really get cooking or baking at all. Which is horrible because you should all be trying to become the perfect housewives.

Anyway, even with the pleasure that is making your own food, I would just buy some from the local Japanese grocer. Same with melon bread. I always wanted to try baking them, but it's easier to just buy a bunch down the block.

This thread reminds me of the Doujinshi I just ordered about Yuuka owning a bakery. I wish I could visit Yuuka's bakery.

I do a bit of baking. I like baking bread, it's much tastier than the store bought loaves. Mine never gets tall enough for sandwiches though.

It's weird; a topic is usually better discussed on the boards it's not meant for. But since /ck/ is a smaller board it's usually more on-topic with less shitposting. They have the same superiority complex that other boards have, though, and expect you to already have a set amount of knowledge about the subject before your post can be considered easily. You could post a thread about what ingredients you had for dinner and some suggestions, and then they would give you suggestions in return, but heaven forbid you ask for a recpie.

Sometimes when I am walking down the street and pass random people, I think about how they might be from /jp/ or have similar interests to me and we could even be great friends, but neither of us would know this fact and we just continue walking. Someone from /jp/ could even be in my apartment building, yet I would never know.

If you haven't, just try making it by hand. It doesn't take that long to knead. Then if you like it, but want to reduce the time/effort spent you can spring for the bread maker.

One nice thing about bread is that it freezes well. I cut my finished loaves in half and put them separately into the freezer. Keeping only half a loaf at a time keeps it from getting stale.

I freeze/refrigerate my bread too. Helps it last longer. Good idea with cutting it in half though.

As for baking, I haven't done anything in a while. I've bought the ingredients to make a cake twice now and the perishable items expired both times. There are so many things I want to do on the weekends and everything takes so long. Not mention the thought of having to eat an entire cake by myself doesn't help. However, maybe tomorrow will be the day. Pictured is a cake from about a year or so ago.

My laptop's (that I have to constantly take to, ugh, college) HD is named Mugenkan, but I doubt I ever crossed someone that even knows Touhou in fucking Brazil.

I haven't baked or cooked in a while... Last thing I made that I felt good about were some caramels for Valentine's Day. In the end I made about 120 of them and ate them over the course of a few days because I didn't have anyone to give them to and the people who live in this house are diabetic.

The last thing that I actually made was a cake, yesterday. It came out alright. I just can't seem to do buttercream frostings so that came out a bit runny soft, but it did harden in the fridge. I think I'll stick with whipped cream or meringue frostings from now on.

I'm getting really excited for the summer and all the food and drinks that are associated with it. To me, that means berries, grilled food, frosty treats, and trips to the gas station for snacks. The orange blossoms will be blooming soon too, so the whole city will be filled with that nice sweet scent.

The last thing I made was melon-pan. Baking is a hell of a lot more time consuming than cooking, but I think cooking might be harder. It's hard to find the motivation to cook things because I think I might mess it up somehow.
