They were not bad when I migrated from /fig/ threads on /jp/ because of unbearable shitposting. It was about 1 year ago or so, before figs were popular on /a/.
Now it's daily rehash of the same posts / pictures and spam.

I took a gamble and decided to order the AnoNatsu prize figures by Furyu. The sample sculpts looks pretty decent and it's one of those series where I doubt we're gonna get a high end figure of the best girl, so the prizes will have to tide me over.

I don't understand at all. I know why you would want a figure with joints, those are fun to play with. Most of these figures are just little statues that costs a ton of money though.

PVC figs are looking nice, almost exactly like 2d characters so if you like to save pictures of your favorite characters it will be very nice addition in your collection because as I said they're the closest 3d versions to 2d. You can place these figs on your table or wherever you want and feel better after every look on them.

It is also somehow motivate you to make photos of your figs and improve your skills in photography and photoshop. I didn't know photoshop at all, simply 0 skills before I've bought some figs, made photos and learned how to edit it.

So I recently got a mediocre underpaying job, which has finally given me enough money to start hunting down all the revoltechs/figmas I haven't been able to buy for the last couple of years.

That's not my problem, my problem is a friend of mine bought me a couple cactus toys made by tokidoki, a company with an italian website that makes Japanese inspired toys/apparel/whatever, I think it's pretty awesome and I'm trying to get a couple more to complete the set.

The problem is, is this still figure collecting or am I on the steep slippery slope towards /toy/-dom. Because the last time I was on /toy/ someone posted a youtube link of a grown 35 yr old man crying like baby because his Chinese exclusive toy that he paid over $200 for, was cheaply made.
I don't want to be like that, so should I stop now?

I started collecting in 1997 and pretty much stopped around 2009ish, things just got too churned out and look like cheap shit now yet you end up paying more for it.

When they started really mass producing bishoujo figures in around 2006 onwards I bought a load and then realized I would literally have no room if I kept buying as many as I did from 2006-2008. Now I just keep to a couple of figures a year if I really want them but to be honest anime character designs have been largely shit for a while now and you feel like you're buying something which is going to end up in a landfill or forgotten within a few years.

Does anyone want a free Koromo ?

She fell pretty hard about a year ago and her left bunny ear broke. I glued it back but it's not perfect. I think the chain also fell at the time, but it's back on now. I need to send it away soon or it will go to the garbage. I'll pay for the shipping fees if you're in the EU.

I'm currently working on the basic version of this kit. I've got the pieces cleaned up, test-fitted, and the primer is drying now. It will no doubt end up looking far worse than a pre-painted figure, but it will be made with love. Hopefully I will be able to build up my painting skills over time.

I'm glad some of the other characters got some merchandise. I may need to buy this or the Okabe if that turns out well. However, I would really just prefer an Okarin with articulation. A Nendoroid style Daru would work too. He could be the only one with a larger body than his head.
