Why does everyone hate shitposting so much?

It is the truest form of love. Just look at shitposter threads. They express love, happiness, compassion. They are the lifeblood of /jp/, they are what makes us love each other.

If it wasn't for shitposts then /jp/ would just become this boring robotic board with no personality or passion.

What we have is people from various boards who come here for the NEET thread expanding outside of their containment thread and making on-topic discussion nearly impossible. I'm a NEET, but I wouldn't be caught dead posting in a NEET thread. Over half of the people who post in those threads don't even care about otaku culture.

I recently came to the realization how much I hate the family mentality that is going on in /jp/ for the last few years. The reason I came to /jp/ was because it was the more elitist board. /jp/ was always bickering and rude. We had the mentality of "I hate you sad fucks, but at least you know your shit" and we laughed at /a/, because it was overrun by kids whose first anime was Haruhi. But now, because of shitposters like you who treat every argument like a parody of the mentality /jp/ once held, we're just a big lovey-dovey circlejerk.

Shitposting is not binary. It is a continuum. A post can be anywhere on the spectrum from "100% non-shitpost" to "100% shitpost".

If you keep removing the lowest 20%, eventually, you'll have nothing left.

Everything bad about /jp/ is seriously the fault of shitposters. I don't know if they were out for cheap laughs or to utterly demolish the board when they were getting started, but they succeeded at both.
