I'd advise against the MadCatz TE, since the Sanwa JLF it comes with is shit-tier for anything that's not fightan. Sure, you can always slap in a Seimitsu, but at that point why not save some money and go with the BrawlStick instead?

I disagree. You can roll your thumb on a D-pad better, especially ones like in the OP image. With arrow keys, you're pressing buttons, which is slow. The only real advantage is that you can press opposite directions at the same time, but you don't need to do that in any STGs that I know of.

I have a HRAP 2 that I use with a crappy Chinese adapter to play SHMUPS and fighting games. But I want something better than my PS2 control with input lag to play everything else on.

Those Logitech gamepads look good but I read reviews and keep hearing about horrendous deadzones and apparently they're just crap. Does /jp/ have any ideas of good gamepads?
