Whenever I encountered Kogasa in game I was reading her dialogue, or skipping it because I knew what she was saying. Kogasa isn't one of the characters that I go looking for fanart of, so I never really looked at her closely. Also the umbrella IS Kogasa's most distinguishable feature, and it drew my attention away from her eyes.

I was surpised she didn't show up in DDC.

First of all, she's the first Windows tsukumogami (excluding Medicine Melancholy, who might not even count, and PC98 had some mirror tsukumogami midbosses nobody cares about), and DDC is a game centered around them. Someone even mentioned that Kogasa is a karakasa obake, a special type of tsukumogami because it has more specialized youkai history, but nope; I even imagined what would happen if Kogasa's umbrella got empowered by the magic mallet.

And second, this is the first post-SA game besides Hisou and GFW in which Kogasa doesn't appear. So she's been in 4 games (UFO, DS, TD, HM (background) ), so it's like an anti-surprise that the one game in which she doesn't appear is about tsukumogami.

Maybe it's all ZUN's plan to bring her back for the next game.
