I'm pretty sure this is all some sort of evil plot to associate shitposting with normalfags so true NEETs like me will stop shitposting, but I'm not falling for it!

>> No.11787240,13 [INTERNAL]

>>11787240,12
No, it's just that the /sp/ shitpost culture was more normal oriented. Lad banter, bro #outlaw, that sort of shit. The idea being that /sp/ should feel like a sports bar and you're just messing around with your mates.

#outlaw was pathetic. They didn't achieve a single thing and now they're overrun with general threads.

>They didn't achieve a single thing and now they're overrun with general threads.

reminds me of a certain other board & its associated shitposter clique.

It's all of 4chan. All of it is generals now. It doesn't make any god damned sense.

>> No.11787240,17 [INTERNAL]

They may as well get rid of boards and image limits all together to have one big catalog with forced thread names, making it like a really fucked up Reddit.

>> No.11787240,18 [INTERNAL]

>>11787240,16
boards got too big too fast and in certain cases were filled with too much shit with no moderation in sight and since chris refused to split them into more specific topics for convenience people started compartmentalizing them themselves in order to maintain a sense of topicality and community

the real core of the problem is that the newer people don't really understand the discussion format of an imageboard compared to a forum or a text bbs and so you get shit like neverending eternal xyz threads that refuse to die even temporarily despite exhausting the original topic and steadily fill up with neverending eternal circlejerking and end up looking like an irc channel with some images attached occasionally

>> No.11787240,19 [INTERNAL]

4chan was started as, has always been, and will forever be, a circlejerk.

>> No.11787240,20 [INTERNAL]

>>11787240,19
yeah and that circlejerk always took precedent to any topic, not the other way around

/soc/ and /lgbt/ are the last bastions of true 4chan spirit

>> No.11787240,21 [INTERNAL]

i just like taking it easy and posting fun things and get real rankled when i get deleted/muted/banned on a fucking imageboard for posts that aren't illegal.

then I see moot go on about being against sopa and all this other web 3.0 activist shit when the moderation for like i said a fucking imageboard is more strict than SA/any other big message board.

>> No.11787240,22 [INTERNAL]

>>11787240,21
Of course he's against SOPA, 4chan practically runs on piracy.
