This is why pixiv used to be kept quiet on this websight. Didn't want filthy foreigners clogging it up and shitting up the place, even if they were other people on /a/ or /h/. People rarely shared their collections of sources anyways back then, but Pixiv showing up spelled the obvious end of web-1.0 link-farms like http://drag11.sakura.ne.jp/check/ and others.

I wish non-Japanese submissions were flagged in the system, so you could filter them out just like R-18G.
Like really, I have R-18G on without issue, yet I routinely see western art on pixiv that makes me gag and want to throw up.

They never put their doujinshi on sale be it in physical or digital form, they just sell a few copies once at an event and then it's gone for good.

What I find weird is that even though Twitter occasionally bans some Japanese artist (like Fatalpulse), they just go "oh well" and make another account as if they had no idea why they got banned or something. I don't know, japs have been getting weirder recently. Why only now anyway? Twitter has been there for a long time.

All that said, even if artists all move to Twitter, it's still a better situation than we had before the mid-2000s when image repository websights like Boorus and Pixiv became to appear (not to mention 4chan itself, being an English image board).

While some part of me misses trudging through artist's individual sites across the web 1.0 wasteland, the sheer simplicity of finding images these days grossly outweighs any old comfy feelings.

Some artists don't like putting their low quality stuff on pixiv. For fandom artists it's handier to start a conversation with someone and make friends on twitter. Some do it to have a separate place for R-18 works or things for a particular series. There are accounts that do 1 hour drawing challenges for artists on twitter. No need to title and tag content. Etc.
