That's not true at all you silly bean.
You are fully responsible for everything about yourself and your life right now.
You've been alive since the universe was created, and you did this to yourself, for whatever reasons you had to.
You don't remember of course, any other plane of existence before this one.

Speaking only in this plane though, you're still wrong.
You can master anything you set your mind to.
Especially something like becoming a 2D artist. There are so many much more difficult passions to work on for years to be a master at, but really, just drawing is not so impossible to do.

All it takes is the commitment to take the time to practice over and over.
If you can practice something once, you can master it through repetition.

There is a difference between good and master.
I do think people have genetic/very early life predisposition to be skillful at certain things. I think it like skill graph, the outline is different for everyone (it's not uniform, like here, but maybe an ellipse). Some have more potential towards one thing. But that doesn't mean that much, because only very few reach their "full potential". So even if you're born under less fortunate stars you may still become better than someone that didn't put any effort in.

That's just how I think of it.

I agree with this. Yeah, you can git gud at drawing even if you have no talent. But god damn will it be tough in comparison to someone that "just does it".

Sometimes I wish I was good at drawing but then I remember that I think drawing is very tedious and not fun, and that I have nothing I particularly want to make. I used to be slightly jealous of artsy fartsy people but now I don't really care, I've tried doing that stuff and it's not even fun; it's not in my blood to be good at it, and I'm not going to practice stuff I don't like anyway.

People tend to naturally find their way into things that they are good at. Only the extremely unlucky or lazy have absolutely no skills, not even stuff like being good at video games or being a good critic.

>> No.15853150

>>15852980
Another guy, but I prefer not to think of it as a discrete, linear thing, as it's too restrictive. It's more like for any one skill everyone starts at 0 and can gradually increase, but growth is sub-linear (diminishing return for the same amount of effort). The growth for different people will be different, reflecting predispositions, but also growth for one skill is affected by the state of all of your skills. Being good at one thing can help you learn another, and overall as you age from youth you become more competent. Also, as you get better at one skill you might improve faster, even though overall the return in skill diminishes as you get better.

What you see in "talent" is part predisposition and part growing all skills in ways that happen to help growth in one specific skill. It might take less effort for one person to git gud than another, but because returns on improvement diminish there's no reason somebody "untalented" can't get to the same place.

there are very few people with talent who actually try their hardest, those are the kinds of people who become the Sargents and other masters.
Because of the nature of art and the huge amount of hours you need to perfect it a lot of talented people reach a comfort zone and stop progressing, which mean that a lot of people who go further are actually people without talent, because it's harder for them, they end up with a stronger work ethic.
The people that become true masters are people who have talent, but work as hard as people who don't, but you can become an extremely proficient professional without being a master

Hello, I am a beginning animator. I would like to have some director, I can draw short animations for, for free. And I really want to do something /jp/ and anime related like touhou or rabu raibu related. Here is a cirno painting I did. It was the last thing I did before I decided I like animating more. I messed up on the legs a bunch. Ive been drawing for about a year now, but only most recently ive started uploading works online.

So, if anyone here wants some small animated related short, that you think will get some views, please please onegai contact me here:

True and untrue. I think there is a difference between technical art skill and artistic art skill. A person can be naturally talented and able to perfectly replicate the works of renowned artists but without artistic talent that is all they will ever be able to do. Without artistic talent an artist will never be able to make a compelling original piece of their own.

For example, a talented guitarist who can play the most complex solo ever written is nothing more than a good cover artist without the ability to write their own compositions.

The famous classical artists we know today are as famous as they are because they had the right mix of technical and artistic talent.

Here's a general comparison of graphite pencil.

also the pressure and how hard you press your pencil to create a thin/thick outline plays a part. I've seen some artist capable of doing a full traditional drawing only using a single 4B pencil.

also generally some erasers does their job better then most other eraser. electric erasers often make quick work of thin line. but doesnt erase well and leave black smudges from darker graphite.

Pentel's brand or ANY high polymer rubber eraser tend to get the job done. but can be damaging to the paper and can cause wearing, thinning the paper causing rips

Also there's a wide variety of issues when creating a perfect picture.
From the size of the paper, smudges, until the process where you upload your picture.

Uploading picture generally can cause some issues. I've seen some discoloration and blurring more often then not. if you can...
do make some tweak in photoshop. you can adjust the pic into RGB value and tweak the contrast and brightness; I generally go with -6 , 34 (depends on your resolution or monitor as well)

also PLEASE resize the image if you can (some scanners/photos can load a gigantic picture unless you resize it)
Hope this helps!
