Reimu was never really human (one of her mothers was a Youkai), though she is unaware of that. Marisa is still human, but she will eventually turn into a Youkai, though not by her own will, it's hinted that Alice is slowly turning her into one to have her for herself forever

That means we will have even more people who barely know anything about Touhou and just spam their fanfiction canon.
It is bad enough that most people just see Touhou as a story about about cute gals doing cute things and befriending each other, ah yeah and plenty of yuri.
Even though the fakking canon contradicts fanon and is a bit more serious, depending on how much you read into it semi-serious or edgy-serious even.
