That was better in YBO, you could literally scale food for predators depending on size. Micro-sized predators could feed off a giant sized shithead for days.

What the fuck.

I had 2 nicehead Kotasu Marisas outside the house by the fence. Happy friends. Go to the park and come back. Screaming and fighting. 1 is half dead. Pull the other one off. Can't figure out what started it. HOLY SHIT IT IS A KOTASU SHITHEAD FRAN. How the fuck did this happen? I had no other yus outside???

Spring

The season when yukkuris that successfully hibernated start to poke out from their holes.

One of them even showed up in my garden.

"om nom nom, so happy!", it said with its idiotic voice.

I can't say that I put my heart and soul into them, but the vegetables that I put *some* effort into growing have now been eaten and scattered about.

I was very angry so I decided to teach it a lesson.

At first it said something stupid like that, but in the next moment little Marisa started crying loudly.

It tried to squirm out of my grip while dripping of tears and pee pee.

Eventually it realised that it's useless and started to act nice to me instead.

Spouting things like,
"Maricha is a good girl che" and "letsh take id eajy together"

Of course, that sort of nonsense just goes in one ear and out the other.

It tried to sound smart flaunting its vocabulary, but after all it's just yukkuri speak, nothing more than animal sounds.

I lit the cigarette that was in my mouth the whole time, pointed it towards little Marisa and slowly moved it closer.

"Yuyu!? Whatsh dat? I can't take it eajy che!"

It didn't seem to understand what a cigarette is, but it seemed to understand that it's a very dangerous thing. Little Marisa desperately tried to twist its body to get away.

When I was done giving it the standard treatment, I gave little Marisa back, with its completely burnt up privates, to mama Reimu who had been standing the whole time crying and screaming by my feet.

"Yuaaah! Baby's... baby's part where babies come from, the very very important part is...!"
"Maricha can't make baby now che!"

I picked up both of the crying yukkuris and threw them out of my garden toward the road.

"Sky!"
"Wings!"
After their stupid voices came the screams, and then after a while,
"Why did dis misfortune hab to happen to us!"

"You should be grateful I even let you live", I mumbled to myself hearing their cries over my shoulder as I walked back to my room.

it's generally accepted across various stories that yukkuri are treated like cockroaches/rats unless they're pets.

their natural habitat is in forests by themselves, which is all very well and good, but the ones who don't want to eat bugs and leaves forever tend to try to invade either farmlands or urban environments.

it's a problem in cities especially because they tend to clutter up the environment by begging on the sidewalk (often singing, which is always described as being ear-splittingly annoying), getting squashed underfoot/on roads, ripping open trashbags in alleyways for food, shitting everywhere in public places and parks, all while selfishly demanding people give them sweets or take them in as pets.

and of course, the worst offense is when they try to invade homes directly, often killing actual pet yukkuri they find when the homeowner isn't around.

so even though they have a small degree of intelligence, they're basically seen as vermin for the most part.

Not to mention the more recent-ish development of the House Yu, which are much smaller yukkuri that are basically roaches. Large ones won't get much bigger than a golf ball and, unlike normal yukkuri, they lay dozens or in some stories hundreds of eggs as opposed to birthing/stalk birthing 2-4 at a time.

Family-friendly and non-violent stories are pretty rare now, as the last remnants of the content-producing fandom deal almost exclusively in abuse.

An english voice version of Yukkuri Diary got relased. Some of the lines are really hard to understand due to it being english spoken with a japanese text-to-speech, but it's okay

Spent a bit writing down every line I could make out:

"Easy days, happy days, yu yu yu!"
"I am very happy"
"Give me food, now!"
"This is my easy place"
"Floating in the sky"
"I am bird, I am bird!"
"Look at my cute sideburns"
"Poopoo, poopoo, poopoo"
"Poopoo go!"
"You are my henchmen!"
"You are poopoo"
"Don't touch me"
"Rolling rolling"
"Munchy munchy"
"Slurpu slurpu"
"Snuggle snuggle"
"My kiiiiiiiiid"
"It's the smell! Super smell!"
"It's cold, super cold"
"It's cold, help me"
(marisa) "Lets go hunting"
(marisa) "You wanna fight me?"
(marisa) "I go and ????????" (no idea)
(marisa) "I am stronger than alice! (?)"
(reimu) "My sideburns are prize given to me"
(reimu) "Reimu is pretty princess"
(reimu) "Why are you cute"
(reimu) "Reimu like sun, yun yun yun!"
(cirno) "Strongestu, Strongestu!"
(cirno) "I am the strongestu!"
(alice) "I am alisu!"
(alice) "You are very nice!"
(alice) "You (???) me now"
(alice) "It's very fashionable"
(alice) "You (thank???) me now"
(alice) "Hey you are loving (???)"
(alice) "It's very fashionable"
(alice) "A-ron A-ron (no idea)
(patchy) "I see, I understand"
(patchy) "According to this book"
(Sakuya) "Do you need something?"
(Sakuya) "My payee my payee" (no idea)
(remi) "lets play togehter!"
(remi) "I will each you!"
(Flan) "I am so boredu"
"I am super strong"
"Give me back please, give me back!"
"Why are you so envy!"
"I am sorry"
"are you ok?"

Works. I've noticed that leaving them alone for a while (petting helps) leads to them reaching an intermediate state, where they repeat "give me back" and the sky nonsense. This may be related to their physical fitness. I had a Reimu and two Patches, one smaller and one larger. The Reimu reached the intermediate state by herself, followed by the big Patche. The little one needed to be petted a lot but might have done it by herself, if given enough time. When impregnated in this state, they don't say anything during birth, but their children are normal. The Reimu eventually managed to become normal, but reverted to full yukkuritis after being hit twice - hitting probably has the same effect as scolding, but causes enough physical damage that it'll kill the yukkuri first.

takumi is still making comics at a normal pace, while big.g's is glacial. There's other artists still around on pxiv and I know OYP gets posts fairly often. Translation is iffy, though, and if a comic is kanji-heavy odds are it'll never be in English.

I guess since that koyu is in bad shape the game thinks you're trying to revive it (since if you feed a dead Yukkuri it'll fart out an alive copy).
