Debuffs exist for the E3 boss, and for both E5 bosses. Debuffing the bosses lowers their armour, making them easier to kill. How to debuff (current speculation):
-To debuff the E3 boss, acquire in E3 S ranks in nodes K, P, Q, R and V once each.
-To debuff the E5 bosses, acquire in E5 perfect S ranks in air raid node C once, S ranks in nodes D and E once each, and AS+ against an air raid once.

WARNING: Debuffs will reset if switching from any other difficulty to Kou (hard).

News:
-The Spring 2017 event "Sortie! Northeast Area 5th Fleet", with 5 maps over 2 operations, has started. It will last for around 20 days, after which a BB will get Kai 2.
-Kamoi, Kasuga Maru/Taiyou, Shimushu, Kunashiri, Etorofu and Gangut/Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya are the six ships added for the event. The Hayabusa series of interceptors has also been added as event map rewards; with Model IIIA 54th Squadron being rewarded for Otsu (medium) and Kou (hard) difficulty, with the latter also rewarding Model II 64th Squadron and Model III Kai 55th Squadron.
-Anniversary seasonal lines (but not sprites) have been removed.
-The bug with bonus firepower from improvements to secondary armament guns (15.2cm single gun, 90mm single high-angle gun, OTO 152mm triple gun) has been fixed.
-A Kai 2 is planned for Kumano this spring or later. Saratoga and Yura will also get a second remodel.
-The 5th year of KanColle will see something "interesting" regarding foreign ships.
-New Akizuki- and Matsu-class destroyers are under plans to be added.

I put night plane on BB, used 2 CAV Mogami and Mikuma instead of CA/CLT, gave them zuiun model 12 and seaplane fighters, drop one of the seaplane fighters for star shell, used ducky for AACI, cutin DD Hatsushimo as flagship with searchlight, and 4 fighter CV Kaga. Got AS every time, easily cleared hard, last dance was a joke. LBAS was 2 bombers 2 fighters, bombers only got wiped once.

Just finished E-3H. Transport phase was a bit tedious since I jewed out on route support so had a few retreats. HP phase was clean 4 runs 4 kills, took boss support last run though just in case.

Try to take a battleship and 2 carriers, you not only get routed through submarines, you also get routed into the Q node no matter what and will reach the boss with severe fuel/ammo deficiency. That is if you get past Q at all.

What LBAS setup do you guys use for E5 LD?
I'm still farming so I'm only using 2 to bomb the boss node and the remaining one is for air defense, but I'll be using all three on the boss node when I want to start aiming to clear.
Using only 2 seems to do jack and shit to the enemy fleet, but I ran out of land bombers so if I want to use all three the third one will need a catalina to reach the boss node.

I'm switched to kuso mode and E5 is still a nightmare. CTF uses way too much baux and never kills the boss, only chips her to red, at best. And ETF gets taiha'd at B with opening torpedo. If not on B, then on C, with airstrike, no matter how much AS+ you have. If not or B or C, by some miracle, then definitely on F, no matter the AS+ and LBAS, opening airstrike and somebody gets taiha'd.

I don't have any exclusive shit and my 46 were used on support. A +6 41 and +6 P41 were the best i could use. Even then, most enemies survived LBAS and support and fucked me up in return every 2-3 shots, making dealing any decent damage to the boss during day nonexistent most of the time. With only 2 of mine ships surviving to night while at least 1 escort remaining made the boss kill pretty much impossible gudging by the crit damage my ships did in yasen.

The most I ever lost on a single node on E4 with AS was 40 planes, and that's because Tsu will shoot down bombers regardless of fighter power. Sure, if you just bring tons of fighters, Tsu won't shoot them down, but you're losing a lot of damage output as a tradeoff. Bauxite costs will be higher with more bombers because of Tsu, but losing boss kills because you didn't have the damage for it is by far the bigger loss of resources (and time). I'd rather spend a hundred extra bauxite per run to guarantee an S-rank than play "will Suzuya shoot at the boss at night" half the time. I've got 200k anyway.

Of course, if you're starved for bauxite, Your situation may change, but that's what I meant when you should always form your opinion based on your own circumstances.

Cleared E-5H. The only ship I don't have is Littorio, and after a rather messy last dance I don't think I'm up to return there, 15k bauxite left aside. If I'll get gangut to k2 before event ends and have some resources might as well drop by, but don't want to think about it right now.

On a separate note, locking that top-tier interceptor into hard was a dick move, could have farmed easy all I want otherwise then clear medium and not push for clearing hard with all I had.
