Too bad the first three bosses are always misleading, and the final boss has never been truly predicted.
That said, stage 4 being a Winter stage is likely, if only because we've had the other three seasons clearly represented.

Aya was a playable character BEFORE she was a stage 4 boss. In fact she was a playable character twice before that. She's a stage 4 boss in the same way Reimu and Marisa are stage 4 bosses, considering how many times she's been a protagonist vs the amount of times she's been a boss.

Point being? Aya was still a protag in SA and two of her own games, one of which was before she was a boss, and playable in the fighters. It's not a boss becoming playable, it's a playable becoming playable. Cirno has been in just as much.
Reisen is the odd one out, if anything, and is as valid a choice for a protag as Medicine. Medicine is arguably not even a boss and only a protagonist if you don't want to count Aya's games for them not being integers. PoFV is an integer game though, like it or not.

See, I ignored you when you said SA the first time because it's probably the most pants on head retarded thing you've said yet in this discussion.
She was a support character, she literally doesn't appear anywhere but the endings, and she's basically just a disembodied voice giving Reimu advice the entire duration of the game.

Anyway, when people say "Main Protag", in the context of a Touhou game, what they usually mean is someone who falls under the following criteria.

>Playable in a standard (which is to say, non-Phantasmagoria) style integer game, as a stand alone character (which discludes characters such as Yukari and Remilia).
Aya had never fallen into that category, nor did she fit in with the rest of the "Main Protagonist" girls (who, aside from Reimu, had all been penultimate bosses who were servants of some sort to the main antagonist.)

But then again, that's what makes Aya and Cirno being playable in this game so special, because they don't fall under the usual trend, and they're the first main protags to really break this trend since PC98. Though, of all the characters to break the mold, ZUN's daughterfu and old waifu make sense.

Oh, but please do go on about ZUN's choice of main characters in standard games don't usually follow certain trends, or how support character = main character. I enjoy laughing at dumbasses.

Etarnity, at best, can be the mid-boss in the extra stage or maybe even Aunn or Tenshi. Extra stage boss is gonna be a Celestial who motivated the stage 6 boss to fuck up the seasons since boredom struck.
