It's rather normal for a composer to be inspired by other music pieces. Similar to how filmmakers are inspired by other movies. The thing is that people tend to be retarded and can't understand something being in the middle, they either see implying ZUN didn't come up with everything to 100% as heresy and the others think ZUN stole 100% and is a talentless hack. Some of the parts taken are super short or ended up heavily modified, in the end 95+% of songs have no such connection and even the ones that have are to the biggest part ZUNs own creation. If you want to see a soundtrack that is very heavily inspired, look at the DOOM soundtrack.
