However, she's actually quite friendly to humans and her vengeance doesn't go beyond surprising and spooking humans. She gets genuinely pleased when she successfully surprises someone (or thinks she successfully surprised someone).
>Kogasa suffers from self-esteem problems, as she is easily pushed into lamenting about wondering what her purpose is, or that she might be better off if she just went back to being an umbrella. Perhaps due to this, Kogasa is seeking a true purpose of existence for youkai, tsukumogami, and herself.

Kogasa tripped on two packets of ketchup which made her fall down and get ketchup on her knees and feet. She was very upset but a few seconds later a kind anon came by and took her home out of the rain. He dried her off and gave her numerous headpats which calmed her down. Later when she was feeling better she jumped and and yelled BOO to scare her new friend. He went AHGRHGRHGRGHRGHRHG YOU SCARED ME. She was very pleased. Kogasa went on to lead a very happy life devoid of any pain or suffering.

A careless villager steps on her umbrella, breaking it and Kogasa’s legs in the process. Screaming in pain she scares the villager off without realizing it so she loses the satisfaction of scaring somebody in the midst of her pain. She sits there in the rain without an umbrella of her own and broken legs for the rest of the night until she cries herself to sleep and disappears over night from self deprecating thoughts and pain. Her umbrella self is later trashed and burned for recycling
