What tea is /jp/ having?
What is your favorite?
How to you like to brew your tea?

I'm having some semi-aged Menghai factory raw puerh in a red clay pot. It's quite mellow, creamy and sweet. I expected something more powerful but it has a nice marshmallow and camphor aftertaste.

Let's have a nice thread and take it easy! OC welcome.

Why do you have a pot inside another pot? Is this some secret Chinese technique?

BTW green tea is best tea, unless you have black tea with some dried fruits in it.

You're supposed to pour water over the pot to keep it as hot as possible. It also helps to keep the table clean.

I usually make green tea in a big thermos for work. Lately I've tried using a blend with matcha, it's a nice alternative to energy drinks when it's cold out. Anyone have a particular brand they swear by?

Why would you mix match with green tea? Matcha is the equivalent of tea espresso and if it's energy that you want, it's the tea to go. I'm not very familiar with matcha brands, but any shop that sells tea only should have way better stuff than what you will find in a supermarket. Shops that specialize in matcha should have even better stuff. You need to pay extra attention when drinking matcha because you are consuming the whole leaf so pesticides and bad processing have a greater impact than other teas.

I'm the type of guy that drinks hot tea all year out, but in the summer you can try iced tea or cold brewed tea. Tea can be infused in cold water too. But it extracts at a very slow rate. Green tea infused in cold water for 3-5 hours is delicious.

I think they blend it with matcha because pure matcha is fairly expensive and they need something to stretch it out. Even blended with ordinary sencha it's pretty expensive. The box claims it's less bitter than pure matcha but I don't know if that's just because brewing pure matcha is easy to mess up.

I usually buy in bulk from different stores online so I try different brands. I don't know about any local tea stores near me so I'm pretty dependent on getting that stuff shipped to me.

Although I'm mostly drinking Chinese tea, I feel like "tea otaku" is the best way to describe my hobby. Besides, I think there are other anons here with the same hobby. They must be taking it too easy...

Ironically you just need a picture of your teapot with a fumo in the background and nobody would complain about this thread
