Been playing Honkai more seriously lately now that I'm able to and between it and Priconne it feels like I don't have time for any other kusoges anymore which feels bad because I liked trying out FOTMs and random stuff.

How do you people fit FOTMs and other random stuff into your schedule along with the staple games you play and don't want to drop or fall behind?

Post your favourite unpopular opinion
While the EN version is a train wreck and the game itself is grindy, has many flaws, I love it because the unique experience of each challenging map and each hero is unique in in its own way.
Also character art is very nice. Everyone has Live2D art.

The problem with Langrisser is that the gacha is too fair and it's update cycle is too slow. I have every character I want and still maintain a sizeable stock of crystals despite blowing the max on skin lotto every time it rolls around, meanwhile aside from logging in to get nothing from dragon every day there's not much to do.

Yes and no. It's not a waifu-collector but the generic-looking middle-aged men in armor are not the majority of the cast. It's just that as it's a series about war, most of the characters are wearing armor and there's only so much you can do with that in terms of character designs.

That's the intention at least, the book should have a few pages of the results and some quotes from Sensei.
Apart from the phrases questions, that's the one I'm having the most difficulty answering because if I was considering someone as family, it would've been as a daughter. Which is a question I'm surprised didn't get asked.

The question about who would best influence the future (for various meanings) is also tough. I would normally pick someone among my favorites but if it's for the meaning of the near future in AGA then I would want to pick Anko. She would fit best as a regular member as opposed to a time limited collab member but maybe she butts in on Sitara's territory a bit much.

So anyone interested in Honkai 3rd modding? I found out how to install the mods, make the mods and some sample mods but all the material is in Chinese. Unity tools and unity stuff is in English so using the programs shouldn't be an issue but reading the instructions might be.

The issue I'm mainly concerned about is Mihoyo's stance on cosmetic/costume mods. It seems Mihoyo CN is okay with it or at least turning a blind eye to it but not sure if they would get people banned on other servers or if they would even work on clients that aren't CN in the first place.

I really don't want to see Kurumi more, even if that's likely Hayamin's best voiced character; Michelle is only remembered for her mumi, and it seemed like kusopl was having trouble figuring out what to do with her.
I don't like Kanon, but she would make sense too. I forget if someone's kit was already based on tanuki. Shiho would naturally come along too in that case.
Wouldn't mind Sadone, but it would be mean to throw her into another world by herself.

Not limited, but they're not in the reset pool, so you just need to pray to get them when rolling normally.

That's a fine team to start out with though, at least as far as I can tell (I'm not one of the anon's that's especially knowledgeable about the game). The Reina could definitely be better, but even then those three should be more than capable of carrying you through quite a bit of content.

The game runs mostly fine on Nox, but I have this weird bug where some weapon textures are missing and are black instead.
I tried clearing and redownloading the cache and switching between directX and openGL. It doesn't help.

I'm not sure how to feel about character variety here.

Some characters already have 3 to 4 versions in the gacha. They all have different skills and elements, but some of them share the same ougi. Yet as >>21463195 have mentioned you can upgrade every character to max (UR) rarity.
I just wonder how is it going to work out in terms of balance. So far the only difference I see between a natural SSR and SR is that SSRs have this "upgraded" version of ougi which requires you to have another character present in party(?). So it's like a team ougi.

It really all depends on the developer. With system like this they can easily powercreep the game to hell. But they can also maintain a healthy balance like in Granblue, where even oldest characters hold out pretty well.
I guess I'll wait until japs assemble some kind of risemara ranking for the game to see if lower rarities stand a chance.

Throws out lots of magic debuffs and some hefty damage too.) Everyone else is whatever. Diaper idol can be used in PvP but she's not important.

Clan Battle - Makoto. Everyone else doesn't matter.

Whale tears - Limiteds only. Maybe spending 20 here or 40 there can be acceptable to reduce the time it takes to hit 5* but don't blow all you got on normal units, you'll want the goddess fragments for stuff like seasonal limiteds that have no other way of being upgraded.

You don't have to visually equip a costume for it to give you stats. Each character has a "pool" of costumes, the more you have unlocked, the more stats the character has. But you're limited by 5 costume pieces per pool per category(body, weapon, head). This way if you have a lot of costumes unlocked for a single character, all of his/her versions will benefit from this by having higher stats.

There's some useful stuff out there so it certainly can't hurt. Don't be afraid of starting out small, just as long as you're consistent with it. I took a brief look at the learn japanese thread/general and it honestly seems pretty solid since I used similar resources. Anki is a tremendous help for example. My only advice, and this may be preference, but once you're reading don't be afraid of having a dictionary on hand (lots provided in the guide for that thread) as it'll save you a lot of headaches.

No they aren't. They only one that's explicitly a "what-if" scenario is Arisa's. Ames says that these are real things that happened to you and the girls from "the world over there" pieced together from you and the girls' memories. Most of the returning heroines have dream scenarios that are just rehashes of their character stories from the first game so you can be sure those are real.

SSR rate is 3%, SR is 37%. Pretty standard I'd say.
There's a tutorial 11 rolls which give you a guaranteed SSR. But the pool is limited to 5 specific characters. Outside of tutorial there are like what, 20 SSRs in the full gacha right now?
I've been reading a few rerolling guides but I only rerolled once because I settled for characters I like.
Apparently SSR Gowther is considered S tier because he's very useful both in farming and challenging content. His first skill silences enemy skills and decreases their attack depending on the rank(I'll explain the system a bit further in) and his second one deals tripple damage to all enemies if they're debuffed by anything. It seems like none of the possible SSRs are particularly "weak", though compared to Gowther they seem not as versatile and have more of a single role purpose.
So far I've been having no real trouble clearing the content. Story bosses are challenging if you're not overleveled, but not unbeatable. The battle system is pretty fun and I think they've done a good job in providing for both autoable content and manual input.

You control three characters in the battle, one in the sub slot. Every character has 3 skill cards. One of them is hissatsu/special attack which only becomes available after you fill up the meter. 2 other skill cards are randomly shuffled to your hand each turn until your hand is full. If the 2 of the same skill cards are sitting together they're going to merge and increase in rank up to rank 3.
You can also manually drag cards to merge them but this expends one of your actions during this turn (you have 3 action slots per turn). Ranking up skills gives them more power and additional effects.
For example Meliodas's full counter let's him enter a stance during which he counter-attacks for 200% of his own damage for each attack he receives. At rank 2 he receives 40% less damage for the duration and deals 300% damage back, at rank 3 he evades all the attacks and deals 400% damage. If the character doesn't an additional boosts like that, their skill probably hits like truck at rank 3. So if you're doing something on auto you're very unlikely to get skills upgraded to rank 3, because hand shuffling is random. Auto AI prefer to pick damage skills over everything else and never merges the skills.

Character dupes allow you increase the lever of their special attack, but it's really not that powerful. I mean in FGO every Noble Phantasm level is a whopping 100~200% damage increase. Here it's more like 20-40% per level. There are dozens of ways to power up your character in the game aside from dupes. So it's more like a nice bonus.

Added. I don't know what to put as a helper so I just used Bridal Shiori. Increases SP gain dramatically after use so use it with three switches and a combo to max out that awakening UR's SP.

I also know it will fill one attacker's SP at the start of the battle although I'm not sure if it's the first or second.

I can imagine skipping a few actions if it means delaying enemy's super attack, evading all the attacks or healing the damage that would otherwise kill your party, but in autofarming it's just better to spam attack skills.

It's legitimately gotten worse on that front, somehow. They also stripped away any fun you may have during levelling by making BAMs into utter jokes. Last time I gave the game a shot I'd always end up needing to take off all my gear and go into settings to turn off AoE markers if I wanted to actually have fun with them, and even then they were easier since half their attacks were removed.

Yes, it's an ingot weapon. It's mostly for bossing only quests and i never use them for general play.

You start with with 100SP, it limits your SP gain to 5, increases SP cost of skills by 200%. But the benefit is that it increases your skill damage greatly based on your current SP. With a full SP bar you get +1200% physical and +500% elemental damage. Xblade can refill bar really fast so it's hardly a demerit

I've fully automated the game since day 1, I play 5 minutes a day and I just got top 10% in the recent DD event so make of that what you will. Auto is perfectly fine. Also calling it a "KC clone" is a bit of a stretch considering you have full control over who you fight, when you fight it, with what team and can control skill timings too if you so desire. It's just doom and gloom all around, I could never get into it. The overall feel and aesthetic of the game is dark colors, the story is darker and it just takes itself way too seriously for me to enjoy it.

In terms of dark stuff, I prefer how honkai 3rd does it because the overall aesthetic and feel of the game is bright colors and happier stuff but the story itself is darker than black if you give a look at the characters pasts. Main story is also pretty serious but it keeps the colorful aesthetic and has lighthearted side event stories so you get to read fun or happier stories about the characters instead of how otto ruined/is ruining everything for everyone ever always.

It's a vicious cycle. The lesser generals want to stay alive and in their struggle they'll just do nothing but image dump and such. Which causes another general to do the same to prevent falling off. Then another. And another. It's quite amusing how falling off the board somehow turns near enough most generals into the same old bump and/or image dump fest. Because I'm not confident enough for communicating in japanese.

I'm learning jap and I can understand most of the mobages in moon just fine. If the game has full voice then it's a life savior for me. If there's no voice acting then I have to frequently check google or a dictionary for kanji I don't know or forgot how to read.
For now I'd rather communicate in english with like-minded people. That's why /jp/ is almost perfect for me. /vg/ thread had too many EOPs botching the discussion. Because they weren't interested in non-english games and were constantly shitting on them in favor of some recent localizations.

I can also read chink but the main barrier to chink mobage is the requirement of a chink phone number, rather than the language. TW and HK don't have such a requirement, but they rarely have their own versions. As for localisation I find that it's rarely an issue since if the chink government doesn't like something in the script they'd rather ban the mobage altogether instead, so if it does get a CN version chances are there's nothing requiring localising.

I'd say reroll if you hate the characters you get for either your first roll or the first A rank shard.

If you want strong characters, Niya's a good choice for first character and Saihamm for the shards, but you're given two strong characters already so might as well dickpick.

When your whole team attacks, it counts as one turn.
You can use pause mode and tap to go through each attack. With max speed I actually find it to be a bit faster than waiting.

I like the fact the game is very transparent about almost everything. You can see enemy levels, skills, stats, droptables for each stage with percentage for each item. And enemy levels work just fine. If your party is the same powerlevel as the enemy you'll have no trouble clearing the stage on auto. If the enemy is twice as powerful you can still defeat them but manually, perhaps with some basic sustain like heal or def buffs.
Higher level dailies and side missions have insane level enemies with passives likes "receives 20% less damage from attack skills" or "gains a 5% attack buff at the end of each turn". Playable characters also have these kind of passives, but they're locked behind a powerlevel requirement. Some of them sound broken, but can't really say anything because I've not seen them in action.

Honestly I feel like it's enough to get 1 of the higher tier SSRs in the tutorial roll like Gowther or SSR Meliodas and settle for characters you like after that. Since it's pretty easy to evolve any character from SR to SSR. The SSR->UR transition is way harder.

From what I understand characters without aoe or useful debuff skills are underwhelming for now. And King's additional effects are kinda meh. His first skill is a single target attack which has double chance to crit. His second skill is a single target again, which deals 20% additional damage for each enemy debuff. While one of Gowther's skills deals aoe damage which is trippled if enemy has ANY debuffs on them. I can see King being used in bossfights if you don't have a better attacker, since single target attacks deal more damage by default. But for new players I think it's better to start with a character who can walk you through the story and still be viable in bossfights.

In the end, everyone can become UR, so there's no telling what lower rarity characters may have hidden potential.
