Just started watching Kimetsu no Yaiba. It really is surprisingly easy to understand. I'm just really wondering now, why are there such huge differences between different anime and what exactly are the differences. I think it has more to do with speed and pronunciation than vocabulary. Especially since Kimetsu no Yaiba shouldn't be easy, because it is fantasy with historical weaponry.

I just have the manga open in MComix in one window and then the KanjiTomo window plonked next to it for quick and easy access.

When using KanjiTomo, I recommend changing the following settings:

The default setting constantly snatches the window focus away and is seriously fucking irritating.

Depends on which level you're at, if you're new, it's definitely worth checking his videos or the quickstart guide, if you already know how to learn japanese and can watch and read in japanese, you could check his channel and watch anything that you think could be it useful for you, but at this levels it's better to just watch and read stuff in Japanese

i kinda got that impression out of yukito in the anime adaptation, but in the vn he just seems like a loser neet who walks around town playing with girls and making awkward comments about stuff.
in the scene that i shared a screencap of, minagi had offered to fix up his 人形 (supposedly a puppet, even though it looks more like a rag doll to me), and he'd gotten slightly irritated because she'd given his doll pink clothes, so he roundaboutly expressed his feeling by telling her that wearing pink is not a color that normal men would wear (as opposed to gay people, transvestites, and women, i suppose), and that he'd like to have that fixed, which kind of reminds me of the way i've acted whenever i've gotten gifts from family members, hence my comment about it being weird to make a specific petition towards a girl whom he just so happens to have met a few days ago, who is fixing his doll up entirely for free.

Some of his videos are decent and the current guide he has on his site about how to learn Japanese is actually pretty good. Most people who dislike him do so because of his character rather than the actual content of what he says, though some of the things he talks about generally don't go down well on DJT either (meditation, pitch accent, and arguably RTK and sentence cards).

it is. the scene is the mc remembering a fire dance style mega sword slash breath attack that he learned from his father, and then using it to defeat an enemy he previously couldn't even dent. his sister also asspulls some fire on top of it. it's presented well, but it's such a boring tropey moment that anyone who has seen many shonen would find it unremarkable. it's an easy test. just imagine the scene with average animation. imagine tanjiro flying at spider boy in a straight line and the camera isn't spinning around him. imagine the dad dancing around the fire in a choppy way. the animation is good. it's just completely unremarkable as a story. it's funny that berserk 1997 has some of the worst animation around but it's such a better story that you won't care (if you're not a pleb).

Here's the thing, there are so many factors which come to play in here. I am no expert, but getting a girlfriend is something I have dekita, and something I have had the opportunity to dekita many times.

First thing is first, what are you standards? Does she have to be visually appealing? Mentally healthy? Physically healthy? If the answer is no then you probably shouldn't be looking to get a girlfriend because part of the process should be trying to get with a girl who will improve YOU in the process. You should be nervous, you should fail, and you should ask your own Mother for advice. You should go out of your comfort zone, otherwise it's not worth it for a relationship of diminishing returns.

What is your situation? Are you a NEET? Are you working a job? Are you in school? What are you doing? Do you see girls in your daily life? Let's assume no and you have to go well out of your way to see a girl. Well bars are the best place quite honestly. Do you have friends? Don't go to the bar alone. So acquire regular friends first if needed. I'm not going to give a breakdown on that.

You have to talk to the girls, dude. You have to go for girls that are drunk but not too drunk. Be your awkward self at first, and learn something new each time you talk to a girl.

i.e. *Oh doing X autistic thing reaches Y disgusted response from the girl*

Then move on to the next girl. Repeat the process over and over. Talk to girls just for talking to them, not for any other purpose. Eventually you will be good enough to make like friends with the girl. Doing this is actually not like learning Japanese at all surprisingly.

Maybe you also need stuff to work on building confidence? Well maybe learning Japanese isn't good then if you want a girlfriend, because a hobby that gives confidence would be better.

im reading this manga 天空の扉 and it's the weirdest shit cause it's like a dark battle shonen type thing, very standard fare except more violent than usual. but the world has all these little cute creatures that pretty much only exist in the background, and sometimes the characters will just slaughter them for literally no reason at all and the manga acts like nothing's happening. the characters barely even acknowledge they're doing it and there's no tsukkomi about it or anything. just murder them and leave mangled corpses behind while doing exposition about their super powers. it's so weird.
