You can do it with just the patch. Make sure you have the updated version with the bugfix.

Message's installer was meant to allow knuckle-dragging mongoloids to be able to play it, even if they have Vista or Windows 98 without having to use applocale. Of course, anyone who can get the game is probably smart enough to figure out how to patch it manually.

I think one of the things they said even was that the installer would fix the game so save files would be compatible with the UBW patch.

Except I've loaded saves from the fate route with the UBW patch just fine.

I've heard that the installer will let you use voices from realta nua, but that's still not a reason to delay the patch so long.

I really don't care about having voices in it anyway.
The only way it would interest me is if they were english voices, and since such a thing would likely be half assed I might still not use it.
