I want to write a story about Cirno educating herself, funnelling her natural curiosity into a thirst for learning. We know she can read and do math, but being a fairy, she mustn't have any desire for anything outside the purview of the immediately pleasurable or applicable; it isn't that she isn't capable of thinking things through, only that she hasn't yet learned how.

Cirno is the most human-like fairy, likely from being a bit of an outcast as far as fairies go and her disposition towards improving herself.
Often times she's never seen doing fairy-like things outside of "pranking" frogs, while other eccentrics like the Three Fairies and Clownpiece are always at it in some way.
She's almost always running a stall during festivals so she has value for exchanging labor for presumed currency, and she is on good enough terms with youkai and humans to be a regular guest to their banquets and parties even when other fairies wouldn't be. When things need to get done she's usually the first to take charge and rally the troops, even though she's still a baka. All these things you would never expect or even think were possible from fairies.

The big irony behind Cirno is that her views are based on contradictions; Cirno doesn't particularly trust humans because they abuse fairies, but they abuse fairies because fairies beside from her tend to take pranks too far.
Cirno doesn't particularly like the way other fairies prank either, hence her reaction in GFW when they "accidentally" blew up her house.
Hence her nature. Cirno is insufferable because she views her fellow fairies as reckless, and humans as prone to lashing out for no discernible reason. They all need supervision from a strong overlord, so they stop messing up her fun!
