Alice isn't lonely, she's a career minded girl.

What, you thought she wanted to create a living doll for companionship? No, she just wanted to see if it could be done. And Shanghai will be a smashing success.

After that, Alice will realize there's no point in trying to improve on her, as she already did it right the first time, and Alice and Shanghai will travel around Gensokyo, putting on doll/puppet shows for all the people to see. They will become rich, as rich as Nazi's, and then Alice will become the richest person in Gensokyo.

Then she and Shanghai will leave for the outside world, and bask in their riches.
