well the problem is mostly, that the japanese hate money and don't want to distribute their shit in a convenient way. With digital resolution furigana would be no problem. Hell with proper paper quality and bigger fucking pages, furigana wouldn't be a problem. Digital they could even easily make it switchable to personal preferences. Even if you don't like it, but I would read everything in pure hiragana. I get it, that there is not big market for it, but it's not as if this would be hard for them to do. But the japanese seem to absolutely hate making money in general.
