Do you plan to go to Japan? If so, why? Japan seems to be full of racists from some stuff I've seen.

I've lived in Japan for years and don't feel "oppressed" or anything.

Japan is a country full of people who are all the same race. So, when some white dude walks in to a room, people are going to react and be like "woah, a white dude." I don't consider that racism. In America, you might be called a racist for saying "woah, a black guy" upon seeing a black guy, but that's because white Americans see and interact with black people often enough in America that most people wouldn't react that way upon seeing one, and racism has been such a problem in America in the past that what's racist and what's not has been blown way out of proportion.

I've heard whites in Japan complain that they're being discriminated against when someone doesn't sit next to them on the train. I think a lot of white people who come to Japan are so used to being the race on top that when the tables are turned, they suddenly develop a worse discrimination complex than black people who complain that chess is racist because white moves first.

The one time I was on vacation to Japan I was never treated treated with anything closely to racism.

There was a time when I was in line for a Information both and you could really see the angst in the clerks faces when it was about to be my turn (I'm from northern Europe). But as soon as I started speaking Japanese with the clerk she shined up and was more then happy to help me. Seemed like I really made her day then.

I like Japan because it's 'exotic' with customs and traditions completely different than my own. It could've been Ireland, it could have been France, it ended up being Japan.
