Looks like the doll thread died, time to make a new one!

Airi has stains on her feet, for now, but hopefully I can get them to fade with Benzoyl Peroxide cream. It's not a super-huge deal, I don't plan on having her barefoot for long.

Re-wrapped her head in plastic wrap so I could put her wig back on. Still haven't heard from Volks USA about caps and etc...

Volks e-mailed me back! They suggest ZM Finishing Powder Spray (http://www.volksusa.com/zmfinishspray.html)), since they don't know when they'll get Mr. Super Clear in again.

Now that I've had a good look at the DDD Sasara (could that not be the most appropriate abbreviation for Dynamites?), I can say I'm not exactly a fan of the body style. Well... I got my hands on some decent model sheet metal. Thinking of hammering out some bite-sized armour.
Perfect peachy-smooth skin wouldn't look good with the outfit. Thought maybe you could shade with thinned hunters' face paint for a more rugged look that could be washed off when I swap clothes.

Usually girls (or even the guys here) dress up their dolls in frilly outfits and silly hats! I don't think I've ever heard of anyone forging a suit of armor for their doll before.

Modeler at heart.
Samurai armour. The pieces are all fairly small, so you mostly just need to get the holes for the lacing in straight lines and file down the edges. The biggest challenge is probably hammering out the segments of the helmet bowl - not sure if it's practical to work with more than five pieces on that scale. Think in all honesty, sewing up the undershirt and the armscoat would be harder.

Was originally going for a ghillie outfit to model a realistic interpretation of Sniper Wolf, but don't think I have the tools to model a PSG1, and don't know any company that carries them in that scale.

I don't even have an anvil. Just fit a rough wooden shape in a vise and beat out the details with a ball hammer. Modeling sheets are usually zinc alloy, so fairly cheap and easy to work with.

I got a head cap for Airi today. Wow, it's annoying trying to get the seam of the cap underneath the wig, so I'm not going to bother.
