I've seen lots of people here and elsewhere mention that they started learning Japanese (or Korean (or Spanish)) because either they wanted to get a Japanese/Korean/Latin American wife or because they wanted to talk to their girlfriend's parents. Even though I don't wanna marry a Japanese woman, I l love Japanese potted plants, roof tiles, and precision measuring instruments, so do you think it's worth it to learn Japanese, or should I give up since it's not really gonna become the focus of my life on an extremely personal, intimate level?
