Patchu doesnt have any threaded ribbons on her design, i was more just letting you know in general. She does look pretty real to me. The tag is usually the best indicator as well as the quality of felt they used for her hair. But i've never had a patchu personally, and think shes a fat anemic loser. I have gotten 3 soft girls off Solaris and they've all been precisely the quality stated in the listing, or better. Solaris is really expensive though, twice as expensive now from when I used it back in 2018. I haven't ever used Amazon JP but I can't imagine any fraudulent JP sellers. For stuff like Ebay you obviously want actual pictures. Authentic fumos on Ebay usually go for $150 or more, and rare characters like Kaguya and Hong Meiling go for several hundred. Anything that says it's being shipped from China is guaranteed to be a bootleg, but curiously enough the bootlegs are only being sold for $30 - might not be a bad idea for your first soft friend, but be sure to give them as much love as an original one. Instead of spending a bunch of money on Ebay, it's probably better to take a few minutes to learn how to use Yahoo Auction Japan with a proxy buyer service like White Rabbit Express or Big in Japan, although when you learn a proxy you've learned enough to actually order fumos straight from the original Gift sale.

Have any other Americans had issues with modifying their Customs Value? I bought some from the Gift sale and one other from Yahoo Auctions but I fear that the disproportionate price of one of my fumos will make Customs want to check my package and I would like to avoid paying duty. its not that hard guys all you need is a sewing and embroidery machine. you then need one sacrificial fumo, tear apart that fumo carefully and then you have your pattern. coppy each piece over to some paper so that you can replicate your fumos body pieces every time with complete accuracy. then you need to source your felt(for body parts) and textured felt for hair. you are now on your way to replicating fumos perfectly! the hardest part is finding a 1to1 body felt that feels just like the real one. accessories are made with just cheaper ribbon or lighter materials.

I thought Americans didn't have to pay duty. Anyway don't try to make it seem too suspicious. If you put like 200 yen / fumo that's obviously suspicious. If you have a lot of items I'd recommend undervaluing but keeping the total above the threshold, which means you still have to pay taxes but at least it's less. Alternatively you could ship them over multiple packages but that might cost more in shipping.

Finally got my Kourindou Remilia I ordered from Mercari last week. She's very beautiful and looks legit except for the fact that I thought her arms and legs were articulated but they aren't.
Also, the name of the inspector is written in Chinese hanzi just like the rest of the piece of paper where his name is written, but I figured it's because it was made in China, so it must've been inspected in China too before coming to Japan
Other than that, everything seems to be in order, including the Gift label, which looks legit both language- and font-wise

Oh, I didn't even know yahoo shopping existed. From what I can see it seems similar to Rakuten where stores can sell their items, for example Surugaya sells through both. I usually prefer stores over individual people as they have more accountability so if you want to be safe I think stores are a better option. Though do check out the store from the item page before you buy as anyone can still open a store if I'm looking at it correctly.
