I see your point anon but these are mostly design failures/"choices", I dislike fgo because of the format it belongs to which is "a service" meaning everything I got there has an expiry date that doesn't depend on me. not only that but the way gacha and its story/events are structure mean I have to constantly pay attention to it in order to not miss content and even then I'll still miss some of my characters. No matter how I look at it I can't help but think that it (and most other gachas really) could have been made in a better way had it simply belonged to a different genre and format.

Could use a proof read to try and cut back on some of the awkwardness of the phrasing, and little mistakes like "stuff from the demon, the realm was very profitable". Also you mustn't be a native speaker because I've never heard the saying "fallen between two chairs". You should also put some thought into the setting in regards to anachronisms. Do thermometers even exist? How does this dude know what one is or what mercury is, for that matter? Also it is a little strange that the ambassador would just... waylay some random dude and give off a speech.

Yeah, I'd read more or something else from you. How can I put it, if the actual writing is like the skin and flesh, then the story itself and the motivations are like the skeleton, the skeleton's there, I don't really see any issue with his motivations - revenge for his circumstances - happiness at getting laid. There's some disconnect perhaps in the way you told the story though, but that's less an issue with the story, and more perhaps with the pacing, I think you should have maybe written more about his changing mindsets, so his decisions don't come off as jarring. I know life got in the way as you were writing it, but we're talking about ideals here.

I think more than anything you should probably re-read and actually think about the writing a bit, think to yourself if it sounds like something a person would actually say, a way that some one would actually act. There's not much glaring that actually stands out, just a subtle wrongness like you had a solid idea for how the interaction would play out, but didn't put much thought into whether or not it flowed naturally. It's a pretty time consuming thing tho.

I think this is a really nice story, just needs a little refining, and if not that, at the very least, head into the next one thinking about it.

Ye, thanks, I honestly tried to emulate a socially isolated autismo hunter in my story, and tried to make his mindset into an "antisocial weirdo'" one who doesn't really show his emotions if that makes sense and it became what it is.
It seemed like he would make a good pair with a mantis girl who is pretty much the same-ish also as the cupid, according to the profile at least.

Maybe the second-person writing style messed me up a little bit too, since it was my first time using it, and it was kinda uncomfortable always doing the 'You did this/You did that' format. I read a lot of MG stories with this style, but you guys made it seem so easy to use, but for me, it was somewhat weird.
Maybe it would have ended up better if I used first person or third.

And I think thermometers were a thing around the 1700's already, but idk I kinda fucked up because I wanted it as the postman tells a joke that the mercury escapes a broken thermometer quickly. The two chairs are actually indeed an old native proverb thingy in my nation, it means in my language 'you fucked up' , because you wanted to sit on both chairs at the same time, but instead, you landed on the ground.

I would like to say that list is kind of biased but I tried my best to keep it kind of in the realm of the people recommended to read have enough mechanical skill and storytelling prowess to keep it enjoyable.
