More like Remilia is a variant of the latin/italian name Emilia. It isn't used anywhere else outside of the Touhou project as far as I know

I'm not here to dispute your head canon but if I had to point the most likely origin I'd say italian. This might not be intentional though (or rather thought out), because japanese authors who want to give something a western/european vibe to something cherrypick aspects from multiple european countries without a particular reason and then call it a day

Why is running water one of the weaknesses of vampires? If vampire legends were inspired by people with rabies attacking other people, hydrophobia is one side effect of rabies. I'm not sure if it's that because other weaknesses like garlic just seem weird. I guess a lot of different stories added up over the years.
