Just got the hori stick today, was waiting for fan feedback before buying the actual game to repeat what happened with black label extra.

Good to know.

Cave themselves handled Mushihime, not that trashy 5pb (who did DDP). Expect perfection.

Cave also did Death Smiles and is going to be doing Espgaluda 2 as well. Pretty sure 5pb still has their grubby hands on Ketsui though...

Which would explain why no one even knows when the hell it's coming out.

I don't like Death Smiles and skipped it so I wasn't sure what to expect.

I wonder if I dropped hundreds of dollars to be able to play this, if I'd be motivated enough to beat one of their games for once.

You don't have an Xbox? Mushihime is region free so if you have one you can order it right now.

And by "beat" I hope you mean 1CC.

>> No.3797626

>>3797599

If you have an old model 360 (before mid '07 iirc) it might be possible to mod it and change regions but you would need a second console anyway if you still want to use live.

Oh wait it's region free? Disregard me then.

Plan on getting this when I get my money. Just got in my Japanese 360 today actually, but I won't get Death Smiles and this for about a week. Playing through Vesperia for now.

Yes of course I mean 1cc. And no, I don't play games much anymore, although I had assumed it was region locked too, so that's a definite plus.

Cave might put Guwange out on XBLA too.

Sounds awesome. If only I didn't spend thousands of dollars on anime figures this year, then I could have got an 360 and PS3.

Oh well, at least I got a figure of Reco.

It's actually all because of a poll they had on their site. Cave asked readers to send in votes to determine which game they will present to Microsoft in hopes of putting it on XBLA, and since there were so many emails from overseas they decided to make Mushihime region free and use it as a test for a western market.

Also, I hear Death Smiles is in the process of being localized for western territories.

A few years ago Cave tried to put their games on XBLA as opposed to putting them out on disc, but MS denied them.

Works out for the better really, because now we get ports with new modes, redrawn graphics and a lot of little bells and whistles you wouldn't find in a $10 rom dump on XBLA.

True in hindsight, but back then people didn't know if the ports would come out at all so I imagine that XBLA sounded like a feasable option, which was denied and probably enraged a lot of people.

What they need to do is start selling some games through Steam.

HEH HEH....

Cave handled the PS2 ports of Mushi 1 and Ibara, and both were VERY FAR from perfect. Also, Futari's port was actually done by M2, and not Cave.

>> No.3797766

>> No.3797777

I know M2 did Futari and they are generally the best when it comes to emulation. Saying Cave handled it just simplifies it a little.

5pb straight up stole the source code from the PS2 DDP and now they're in deep shit.

I'd be in support of this.
As it stands, I'd need to pay about $80+ to buy the game and get it here, and then borrow my friends 360 to play it.

I'm all in favour of supporting CAVE, but that's kind of pushing it...

>> No.3797909

>>3797780

They were ported by Taito.

Also, nobody knows for sure if MS did reject Cave titles. 5pb went to them (nameless, random, shitty eroge publisher) basically saying "HEY WE WANT TO PORT THESE GAMES TO XBLA, THEY ARE AWESOME AND OUR RESUME IS GARBAGE, PLEASE ACCEPT" and they declined.

Cave didn't do shit. It was all 5pb's fuckup. Then daioujou BLEX came out and afterwards the source code bullshit.

Both are pretty reliable sources of information when it comes to this sort of thing.
