If you have a recent iPhone you can probably set up a Suica card and use that.
If you're at Round1 just buy an e-amusement pass there. They should have them for sale at the counter.
Smaller arcades running on non-legit networks may or may not sell passes.

Also, if you do decide to buy something off of ebay do not confuse e-amusement pass with e-amusement card.
You're far less likely to come across e-amusement cards, but they're an older standard of magnetic cards that are not compatible with games made past like 2005 or so.
e-amusement cards will have an arrow and the word IN. They also obviously have a magnetic stripe on the back.
An e-amusement pass will always specifically say "e-amusement pass" on it.

There are also Amusement IC cards. For all intents and purposes at Round1 they work as an e-amusement pass. Any e-amusement pass you buy at Round1 is likely going to be an Amusement IC card.

I think posture depends on what your goal is. The biggest question is if you intend to use the bar or not, because your center of balance will be different.
Using the bar puts more and more weight on your arms as you play harder and harder songs. It's also really good for scores because it's easier to time your button presses.
No-bar requires balance and puts more stress on your calves and/or thighs, but you have more free movement. This allows for easier crossovers, or spins if you go deep into no-bar territory.

The game basically forces you to play just about everything on most difficulties multiple times.
It will probably take you like 15 hours to unlock all the songs in the base game unless you really optimize your playtime.
