I had a break from playing pop'n (last one I played a lot was FEVER on PS2) and I don't know if it's some delay on my djdao/the pc or whether the timing is just super strict, but playing PEACE I have to work so hard to get above 95k on songs. Mostly I am happy if I reach 90k and consider that a good run. On fever I would almost always have 97k+ on most songs I played frequently, now my highest is 96k and it felt like I had to be fully in the zone to get that.
Anyway, post your character of choice in your chosen game(s). Pic related for mine.

They're not really worse imo, they feel a little crisper but that could just be the construction of the machine itself. They're really similar however. I don't remember the model number off hand, but you can get them on mouser like the old ones.

>> No.39645917

>>39644951
hmm. crisper... im assuming this is a good kind of crisp contrasting with maybe a more mushy feel. best case scenario, I'm thinking they have a smooth travel with a sharp feeling hard bottom-out from you describing it as crispy. and yeah the body of the cab probably factors in - maybe there's more or less material at the play area. but i'll never know unless i try myself so i think i'll call or visit my local R1 for my first time and see if they have any iidx cabs. fingers crossed.

im glad to hear from your experience that they're similar and not necessarily worse though. i was so disappointed when i read that redditor's negative anecdotal opinion but it's possible they were just rejecting the switches simply because it's a jarring new change or just have different/fickle taste.

To find out what sort of food I should be eating so that my DDR sessions don't cause me such a huge calorie deficit. I'm sure the calorie counter the game offers isn't super accurate, but when it says 1000 calories after every time, I'm sure it's gotta be up there.

>> No.39710943

>>39710900
>I'm sure the calorie counter the game offers isn't super accurate, but when it says 1000 calories after every time, I'm sure it's gotta be up there.

"As a runner, you'll burn more calories per hour if you weigh 210 pounds than if you weigh 125. According to Harvard Health Publishing, a 125-pound person who runs for 30 minutes at 5 mph (a 12-minute mile) will burn 240 calories, while a person who weighs 155 will burn 288 calories running at that same speed — and a 185-pound person will burn 336."

"Though six of the seven devices tested produced accurate heart rate readings (within 5 percent), even the most accurate tracker was off by an average of 27 percent when it came to measuring energy expenditure. The worst was off by 93 percent!
To put this more simply, if your device suggests you’ve moved your way through 2,200 calories, on the low end it could be overestimating by as many as 600 calories. “The error depends on the type of activity you’re tracking,” says lead study author Anna Scherbina, “For activities like walking and sitting, the results are more accurate than for more intense pursuits, like spinning and running,” she explains. “The point is, you’re not burning as much as you think you are.”"

Unless you're really playing as hard as you can for the entire duration of your session, you're probably not burning quite nearly as much as you think you are.

>> No.39710957

>>39710900
>>39710943
-cont.

You should run a 12 minute mile, tracking your heart rate, and use that as a baseline. Then play DDR while tracking your heart rate the whole time, and compare.

You might only be burning 200 or 300 calories while the DDR's display is saying 1000.

>> No.39710982

>>39710957
I'm going to guess that on most days, my heart rate would go faster than if I jogged a 12 minute mile. I'll usually play 2-4 sets of songs that really push me per night, and I usually play for 3 hours or so (estimated when there is nobody else playing).
I'm pretty sure I sweat more than I did when I last did any sort of running.

>> No.39711007

You very well could be burning that much, then. Have you lost weight? If you're not losing weight, then you have no cause for concern about replenishing calories, for your are eating enough. If you're losing weight, why worry? Are you severely underweight? A lower BMI is healthier, unless you're severely underweight, there are no downsides.

I haven't lost weight, but I'm trying to build a little bit of muscle at the gym, and I've been told that if I'm burning more calories than I'm taking, then my body will take what it needs from any "extra" muscle it can find

>> No.39711068

>>39711043
Sounds a bit like you also have a hard time with appetite, I'm the opposite, I'm always hungry. Protein and fat is about the only way to stave off muscle loss. Peanut butter, whey, chicken, fish, and various nuts/seeds. Mix a chocolate whey protein shake with whole milk and have a couple spoonfulls of peanut butter on top of regular meals. It shouldn't fill your stomach up uncomfortably, but just that much will throw an easy 1000 calories on top of what you're normally eating. If you do that every meal, you can literally be stacking 3000 calories per day on top of your regular diet.

You will not be losing any muscle.

What I consider easy is a website that is full in english and all you had to do is make an account and link your credit card, download the game and play right away. Having to actually look at a guide and follow it to play Infinitas is not "easy" at all for a foreigner.

>> No.39712215

I got a Faucetwo as my first SDVX controller (with Sanwas and Omrons) and it makes quite noticeable reverb sounds and slight buzzing sounds when pressing down the face buttons. Is this normal for these kind of buttons? Everything's working fine when playing and I checked inside the controller and there's nothing loose or anything. Didn't unscrew and check the buttons themself, but if there was some build error or shipping damage it seems unlikely that every button would be fucked up in the same way. My only previous experience with arcade controllers are arcade sticks but they have much smaller buttons that probably aren't very comparable to the big ass SDVX buttons.
