-The Spring 2022 Event, "Fierce Battle! R-Area Operation", is underway. The Main Operation consists of 3 maps, and the Extra Operation "Bloody Battle! Bizarre Battle off Cape Bono", consists of 2 maps.
-The new ships are Japanese submarine I-201 (E-1/2 drop) and Kagerou-class destroyer Hayashio (E-3 reward), Kurahashi (E-4 drop), and BB-46, The Old Mary (E-5 reward).
-The new equipment is the Late Model Radar & Passive Radiolocator + Snorkel Equipment, Late Model Bow Torpedo Mount (4 Tubes), the legendary B-25 Mitchell land-based attack bomber, Ryuusei Kai (Skilled), Shiden Kai (343 Air Group) 701st Fighter Squadron, and 5inch Twin Gun Mount (Secondary Armament) Concentrated Deployment.
-The useless hotel has received her Kai-II and Kai-II Juu remodels. Her Kai-II is an FBB version and requires level 88, 3BP, 1 AR, 3 New Model Gun Mount Improvement Mats, and 2 New Model High Temp High Pressure Boilers. Her Kai-II Juu is a BBV and requires level 93. It's possible to convert between the two.
-There is a new special attack that can be triggered by the useless hotel Kai-II/IIJuu and Musashi Kai-II. It can also be activated with the hotel and certain battleships as the second ship. Kongou Kai-IIC's special attack has been buffed.
-5 new quests have been added. New equipment implemented are the Proto 51cm Triple Gun Mount, 15.5cm Triple Secondary Gun Mount Kai-II, and 10cm Twin High-angle Gun Mount Battery Concentrated Deployment.
-Haruna will receive her Kai-IIB side remodel some time this year. It will be showcased in the Mitaina! issue in June.
-Musashi Kai-II and useless hotel Kai-II/IIJuu are now able to equip 15.5cm secondary guns and 15m Rangefinder + Radar in a holepunch.
-The April ranking rewards have been distributed. The new equipment is the 15m Duplex Rangefinder + T21 Radar Kai-II + Skilled Fire Director.
-New and returning Tsuyu CGs and voice lines have been implemented. Furniture and Jukebox BGMs have been updated.
-The Summer 2022 Event will take place in Europe again.
-As of the Feb 28, 2020 maintenance, due to critical DDoS attacks, measures have been taken that requires players from certain countries to use a Japanese IP address to connect to the Login servers. After getting to the start screen it's possible to disconnect from the VPN and continue playing without it. If you still encounter connection issues try clearing your cache and changing your time zone to JST. These countermeasures will remain until further notice. EN EO now bypasses the block. Another possible workaround is using https://github.com/Tibowl/KCCacheProxy

Hello newfren. Yeah, they were pretty game changing alright. Something to keep in mind though, is that they can can eat through your resources. I'm guessing you are still at the stage where your resources are still in the 4 digits? You're gonna need a lot of resources, even more so in these times when there are a lot more quests and remodels than ever. Also you'll be fine remodeling Chitose. Her carrier form is good and if you end up buying slots, you can dupe her anyways, thought dupes are more mid-game.

If you want specifics for Ten-Go:
- IJN fleet had no air cover so the swarms of USN escorts have nothing better to do than strafe anything exposed on the enemy ships. That turned all of the unprotected AA mounts into useless deathtraps.
- The protected mounts were packed super close together in nice, neat lines hard against Yamato's superstructure so they had awful arcs of fire.
- Numbers. USN strike waves were so big the IJN AA was dispersed all over the sky instead of concentrated on specific planes. Made it almost impossible to hit anything.

As to IJN AA in general, they was almost entirely dependent on the 25mm, which was too small to do all the work by itself. It didn't have enough range. They had no equivalent to the allied 40mm or the German 37mm guns, and that left a big gap in their AA protection.
They also didn't make good use of their AA artillery. The 10cm duck guns were actually very good AAA guns but the IJN didn't use nearly enough of them and the ones they did have had no impact because they had poor fire control.

My exception for no dupes are ships that have extremely different useful forms (ChitoChiyo AVs vs carriers) or ships that are just way too in their category with little competition (I'd keep a dupe Atlanta if I ever got one).
But I don't want to be too meta-reliant, so I won't keep dupe CLTs (past farming their torps) and will instead try to develop my own comps that can work without them.

On smaller ships like cruisers they aren't so bad, it's like a dual purpose gun but slightly bigger.
On Yamato-class, it's just pointless. Firing those guns creates a massive shockwave that has the habit of btfo'ing whatever is on deck, which means that if you fire those, you can't have people manning the AA guns on deck near them or the two autocannons on top of the higher turret.

Well, while I don't have all those +max oxy torps, I do have them at +6 for the most part, and less for the quints with only one +6 sextuple.
So to put it another way, do I need a miracle to clear LD without debuff? Or it's just okay?

Well I feel dumb now. Apparently I've never actually engaged the LD comp and was just assuming through my fleet's anemic performance pre-LD where I think I only got 1-2 clean S-ranks.
So this time my fleet arrived at boss all green and entered NB with full green escort and chuuha boss and taiha CV Hime.
Ichiban dealt the finishing blow as Umikaze was chuuhaed by the boss so apparently couldn't pen the armor.
Was on parallel for the record, much better performance than the green Ts I got pre-LD.

But for real though, while the USN may have considered the Pensacolas light cruisers were it not for the naval treaties, the Baltimores were definitely true heavy cruisers. Similarly, the Admiral Hippers are far too fat to be seriously considered as light cruisers.
